Reaper
Taker of Life
Only would die tonight. There were two options, a grayish-blue pearlcatcher, and a black guardian with green markings. The guardian, a potion-maker, was stumbling upon dangerous recipes, while the pearlcatcher, a librarian, was becoming.....aware. So, Reaper took their physical form to observe. The pearlcatcher was staggering about, murmuring gibberish. She pulled out some parchment, dipping her claw into a nearby ink bottle, scratching down barely legible scribbles."I-I have to remember, I have to-have to tell, they're coming, coming, have to warn them, yes, they're dying, all dead, all dead.." She muttered hysterically, sobbing and thrashing her tail. "They're coming, they're here, they're killing, he's dead, dead, they killed him, greenblackliquidcircuits, doesn't exist, doesn't exist..." She let out a wail, curling into herself and clutching her head. Reaper tilted their head, blinking. No, this one would be fine left alone. Everyone would just write her off as crazy like most others who survived. It was fine to let her live. Reaper flapped her wings once, before flying away towards to poition-maker. She landed in his window, the guardian crouched in front of a desk, mumbling ingredients while pouring one bottle into another. Oh, this was bad. He was definitely much to close. Reaper crept closer, coming up behind him...A crash sounded, just outside his hut. Reaper leaped back. The guardian hurried to the door, bursting out. Reaper sighed, the flopped down in the shadowy corner to wait. Some time passed, before the Guardian reappeared carrying a black, dead-looking mirror with strange grey markings. Nope, not dead, just unconscious. He laid it on the table, sweeping aside the clutter on top. The potion-maker's claws flitted about nervously.
"Ah, is she injured? I don't see any injuries...this is bad, this is bad..." He said nervously. "Uh, are you alright? Wake up plea-..." Abruptly, the mirror started thrashing about, claws scraping and tail whipping. The guardian stumbled back, a cut on his snout dripping blood. The panicked female let out a roar, her wings flapping, which knocked over his potion bottles, which landed on his papers, which went up in flames. Oh. Reaper sat back on her haunches, blinking. Guess he didn't need to die then, since all his research was destroyed. (It would be impossible to find again) Huh. Reaper shrugged, before crawling towards the window and taking off while the guardian was pre-occupied with the fire. So then, she would have to kill the pearlcatcher anyways. Oh well. She'd have to keep an eye on that mirror though. She seemed...off.
"Oh, the reapers are coming, and they're something to fear.
So watch over your loved ones, the ones you hold dear."
