A fight is not always the answer, but you will receive one if you cross your boundaries

Icing had grown up with a fear of never having a future burned in her mind. Every day it was just fools' luck that she and her kin were still alive.

War tore their home apart. It had for generations. Being the youngest, Icing could do nothing but watch her older siblings and her parents leave her to fight their enemies.

She didn't even know what they were fighting about or for. All she knew was that it did nothing but destroy families and lives.

Nearly every day the messenger had to deliver the horrid news that another dragon of their home had fallen in battle.

When she was old enough to be allowed into the war, Icing refused. She had lost her brothers and sisters, her mother died and her father was a wreck. She would not take part in the destruction. Surely there was another way.

The war came to its close a few years later, neither side victorious, but both tired and worn thin. Although much relief flooded her home clan, Icing felt numb. So many had died and no one had even won! What was the point?!

The decision to leave was hard and long thought out. Icing did not want to abandon her broken father, but she also could not relent herself to living a life where death was always a strong smell in the air, choking her at each breath.

She pleaded with another dragon to watch over her father and with that worry gone (or at least in the back of her mind), Icing departed.

When she first arrived at The Rose Floe Clan, Icing had an icy heart. She did not know what this clan or the dragons were like. Did they seek bloodshed and victory from others? Would she have to bury her snout in the dirt to keep from smelling blood?

To say her heart had thawed would be an understatement. The dragons she met there were kind, strong and valiant. They strove for greatness but not at the cost of others' suffering. Rival clans would seek battle at times, but it was always fairly fought and there were intense rules to keep from true harm.

Icing's spirits lifted as she settled in to her new home. She felt at peace, she felt as if she were one with every being around her and the cool ice below her.

She soon took on the role of guardian and protector, assisting when battles were brought up. She had been trained meticulously as a hatchling and could fight until her last breath, taking her enemies with her.. but that was not who she truly was.

Most times, Icing will try and talk others out of fighting. She believes violence is not needed to get points across. Thanks to her skill in de-escalating situations, the clan heralds her as their peacekeeper as well.

However, when talking does not get them further to ending a hostile situation, and those she loves are in danger, Icing will taste blood.
