Pixis may look gruff and tough, but he means no harm. He'd rather tell you a tale of his travels than start conflict! His gentle nature has made him quite the hatchling wrangler, able to have dragon chicks back in their proper nests with either a promise of another tale from some part of Sornieth or other, sometimes two or three if the young dragons are particularly averse to sleeping at a reasonable time (as long as their parents don't mind, of course). He's pleased that such energetic and easily distracted younglings enjoy his stories so much they are happy to sit still for long periods of time to listen, and even ask questions about them if he has time! Originally, he had no intention of leaving Arcane oriented clans - but a Nocturne full of life and curiosity that goes by the name Granite convinced the snapper to travel with him to see the world. A dragon's life is not a short one, so they were in no real rush, travelling at their own pace and leisure, only using magic if completely necessary because of rough or impassable terrain. The lack of urgency to see everything left them spending a lot of time together - which is what eventually sent them their separate ways. They'd grown quite close, closer than two friends should be. For different reasons, mostly out of worry and being startled by the realization they had romantic feelings for each other, they agreed to leave one another on good terms, and start travelling their own paths. Travelling alone only held it's charm for so long, though, and eventually Pixis settled down with the Yulon clan. He proved himself worthy enough to contribute to the well-being of the clan to Kelsus with his world and life experience, as well as his ability to gather up hatchlings and have them sit in one place for a while, while the adult dragons cleaned and spruced up the nests. Eventually, as if fate itself refused to let them part, Granite appeared before the Yulon clan. Pixis felt those feelings return, but having time to think on them he was no longer wary. Having already proven himself, he helped Granite prove himself to the clan, and succeeded. They shared stories with one another, things that happened while they were apart, and once again they grew close. With more solid foundations, they allowed themselves to love each other, and are mated happily. The Yulon clan was overjoyed for them, glad that they had provided the stable and safe place they had needed for their relationship to flourish. The two spend their free time together when they can, exploring the surrounding area, they find something new fairly frequently. They've learned about the flora and fauna, which has helped the clan with gathering food, and provided the clan Scholar Kai with more tidbits of information for his work.
