Biography
Musical Inspiration
Her parents had lived among the trees and vines of the Gladekeeper for many months when she was born. Her parents also did not get along. Her mother worshipped her father as a god, a deity meant to solve their problems, an omniscient being who protected them, fed them, gave them shelter, it was a very strict upbringing. You sacrifice your own belongings to please him, you work hard for what you have, regardless of what the clan brings, and you can only trust your mother.
Qi did not trust her mother, but she obeyed her, and that was the difference, she supposed.
"We sit in the rain and admire the storms our god gives us." Their mother said one day, forcing them out into the freezing weather, the fat droplets even colder to the scales.
Above, they could see their father flying, twisting around lightning bolts and disappearing into the clouds, and the storm lasted hours. Her and her family were cold, her siblings and herself shivering.
"Can we go inside?"
"The storm isn't over." Was the gentle, yet stern voice.
"But we're cold, and hungry."
"It can wait."
"Mom!"
"I said, it can wait."
"Mom!" and it had been the thinnest bolt, barely noticeable to the naked eye, but it sparked down and into the ground between them. Qi felt the static in her wings, saw the green in her mother's eyes.
Her father slammed down in front of them and more or less shoved her mother away.
"Leave." before turning onto the hatchlings, watching them, and specifically, watching Qi.
