There's a gossamer thread between apathy, disturbance, and acceptance. It happened too fast for such a union to be forbade; not more shade-spawn, children of the void and dark. Too late, yes, but not too late to properly educate. She was taught from birth how dangerous her powers could be, and how they could bring great ruin or great salvation, depending on the fortitude of her character. Perhaps it was no surprise, then, when she eagerly grabbed for that ruin in the way only a child can. Oriana takes after her mother, fire in her eyes, and darkness in her veins. The power she wields does not feed on her mind as it does with most Shade-Touched, but is instead used to bolster her elemental powers. The rot that drips from her fingers is as black as the night, and creeping as it drains power from everything around it.

Why should she be humbled by the origins of her power? Power is power, and all is the same. There's no difference between wielding the void between the stars and wielding the sickness of her patron god; none at all, except that superstitious fools tell her it'll be her downfall. As if. She's more than strong enough, and she can outclass anyone who decides she isn't. It is strength that talks, and she screams at the top of her lungs. It hasn't won her a great many friends, except those who join her on the battlefield and prove themselves to match her high, high expectations. There is a hidden depth of longing, a desire for friendship that withers at her own attitudes, but it's far below, sunken in inky depths.
