"For being a nice person when I joined flight rising!"
-NorthernLiights

Sophie came from a young, and much bigger clan than Robins, who had over populated their den in their initial days. Seeking help, some of the dragons dispersed slightly while others put out their own adds seeking to help find new homes for dragons who could not quite be fed. Happening upon such an ad, Robin eyed her own food stores. The clan at the time was herself, her chipskink, trainers and the young hatchling Shade. The coliseum brought her tiny clan far, FAR more food than they could really eat. That in mind, Robin loaded up a chunk of the extra food and brought it to the NorthernLiights clan. A gift. Food that her tiny clan didn't need.

A month later Sophie; a young snapper, showed up on Robins doorsteps baring thanks to the mirror and her only slightly larger clan, and asking if they needed anything. Robin indeed had been considering looking for an ice dragon to join their lair. A second medic who could train under Belle when he returned, and Sophie fit the bill perfectly. Having been considering striking out on her own anyway, Sophie was happy to join the little clan, and took to studying the books Belle had left when he'd left to learn better skills as a combat mage, but also took up study under Quartz for her standard medical knowledge outside of combat.

Sent out to an errand when Quartz was chased from the lair by an angry and very violent Lilly, Sophie came back to a confusing state in the lair one day. Quartz had drugged Iris, and left her cut open and strapped down to the table when she'd fled and the young mirror was left bleeding out, and began to regain consciousness. Panicking, Sophie used her weight and held the mirror down as she woke to pain across her split open abdomen, and called for help. Sophie knew well how to do sutures, but while she was rather large and powerful in her own right, Iris was not getting stitched up properly if she was flailing and panicking. Shade was the first to make it to the room, followed closely by pine as the other two clan members began to realize what had happened. Quartz had tried to dissect her. As Pine dashed out to catch their sister, worried the medic had something dangerous up her sleeve, or that Lilly would loose it outright and murder the other female should she get her claws or teeth into her. With Shade there to hold the terrified mirror, and try to calm her down, Sophie rummaged through the supplies looking frantically for a sedative or painkiller to give to the young mirror so she could stitch her up more easily. Finding no luck in either case, they settled for pinning her down and just breaking out the needle. Waiting longer would only cause her to loose more blood, and with how pale and weak Iris was becoming, Sophie was almost afraid she had already lost too much. As Sophies frantic explanation and Shades cooing and fin stroking started to calm Iris down and get through to her, they strapped her down better and Shade hugged her tight while Sophie started in on the stitches. Having run out of fight, the mirror only managed to flinch a few times, biting down on a strip of leather as Sophie carefully stitched her guts back together. Patched up, and barely conscious, Shade carried Iris carefully back to her quarters, and laid her in bed, making sure she kept talking and that she didn't fall asleep until she got some food. Sophie was terrified that her first ever patient would up and keel over on her if she went to sleep. Severe bloodloss was a terrifying thing. With Iris taken care of, and shade watching over her carefully however, Sophies attention had her returning to the medical room to check on their other patient.

Upon her return, however, Sophie found the door locked from the inside. Confused, and wondering maybe if Quartz had done something to Iris, maybe she'd done something equally terrible to their other patient, using her as an excuse to creep around the lair. Knocking earned a scream from the other side of the door. The spiral seemed to be up and about on the other side. What she heard really concerned her however. "LOCK IT, LOCK THE DOOR, LOCK ME IN." was certainly no the response she'd expected. And so with all the crazy going on, Sophie wasn't feeling like taking any chances. She locked the door before speaking, trying to get some kind of information about what was happening on the other side of the door, but only got growls, snarls and screams in response. A side effect of whatever Quartz had done to her perhaps? And so she settled for spouting cheerful reassurances through the door. Worst case scenario, Robin and Fern would be home soon and could easily subdue the spiral who was likely drugged on who knew what.

As Melody was stablized and became more self reliant, Sophie came to realize that with Belles training and exploring going so long that she too may have to go on a journey for training. With everything going relatively smoothly in the lair, and melodys training at an end, she decided that it was as good a time as any. Belle would be back soon, and it wouldn't be a bad thing to get a head start on her training too. Not only that but Melody had picked up the basic medical know how she needed for everything but the kind of emergency that not even Sphoe would be able to handle anyway.

With that, Sophie packed her things, and spoke to Robin and Fern about her decided departure, sharing a tearfilled, and anxious goodbye with Melody when they found a place that would teach a field medic with what seemed like relative speed. They seemed as able to train medics as Fern and Robin were equiped to train a fighter. With great fear and worry, but also more hope than could possibly fit into one snapper, Sophie did her best not to squash her comrads in her massive hug before departing for her training.
