Janus never deserved the position he holds. Everyone knew that, but he knew that better than anyone. He did not think he was superior to everyone purely because of his station. He doubted himself every day but he would never admit that to a living soul. Especially to his mate, Selene. She despised his weakness, could smell it on him, but they never spoke of it. It would do no good to discuss because they were stuck together. Their marital happiness was a luxury they did not get to enjoy as leaders of their pack.

Instead of working to fix his short-comings, Janus became bitter towards the world. He found it hard to warm his cold heart, which grew more so with every passing day. The only joy he had in life was bloodshed. Janus is not a psycho murderer, though. He is not crazy. He just lives to feel his pace quicken in battle. The more unfair and to his advantage the fight, the better. He loved making others fear. He was a coward, really.
