Biography
War changes dragons.
Greywind knows this to be true.
She hated every second with her mate, he used her for power, for fame, to pursue his own goals.
So she killed him.
Now, nobody remembers him, he is but a long-forgotten memory in the clan's ancient past.
Greywind now protects, she watches from the skies and will destroy anyone who dares to threaten the peace that she brought.
All of her siblings were gone, exalted to a higher power. She was the only child to remain, and as the eldest it was painful.
She had to watch as all of her brothers and sisters set off across the world to seek their own fortune, only to die again and again. Even if any of them had survived, they never cared to let her know.
The same fate met her children, and this time she knew every one of their fates.
As much as she despised her mate more than anything else, she wanted to keep her children safe.
She had taken three other mates under the orders of her now-dead husband. Regardless of who the children were with, they all ended up dying.
The ones she had with her mate were directly murdered by him, for they could not fight fast enough, could not perform under his expectations, so he killed them and made Greywind watch as he did it. He did the same to the children of her other mates, although without their knowledge. They were outraged when they found out, but couldn't do anything, as who would dare challenge the murderous leader of a clan. Her other mates did not blame her but refused to ever mate with her again.
Her husband did this to teach her a lesson, she could never leave as long as he reigned, and he intended to reign forever. However, after fighting for years to regain control over her own life, she finally did.
She brought her mate to the middle of the camp, where everyone could see. It was a large rocky overhang, with a cave inside where the leader would sleep, the leader, of course, being her husband. She pulled him in close, he never suspected a thing, he was pleased that his wife had finally come to her senses. And in one fell swoop, it was all over. She sliced him with her razor-sharp claws, and stood back and watched as his lifeless body fell to the ground. The rest of the clan was stunned, watching as their powerful leader was taken down by his mate.
Her first order of business was to instill herself as leader of the clan. She couldn't allow anyone else to take over while she made her next move. She didn't intend to lead forever, she needed to find someone who she knew could lead. She could choose her mom, the apprentice of the clan leader before her husband. But she was getting older, and spent most of her time in her lab. Her father had always been too weak to lead, he preferred to stay in the lab with Moon anyways, plus he was getting older as well.
