Rana

Matriarch of the Feral Clan, born of royal blood within the seas of the Shifting Expanse. She began life as a Guardian, strong and proud with an unrivaled strength. Unusually large for her species, she met little trouble as she began her Search.

It was during this search that she found her Charge: a young guardian hatchling that had been stolen by a savage wandering tribe of dragons based within the Highland Scrub. The vicious dragons laughed at her demands to release the young dragon to her, explaining in gruff tones that they had kidnapped the youngling from a neighboring clan of royalty, planning to add the dragon to their stock of slaves in order to spite the dragons that lived so well, yet left them to waste away in the scrublands.

Enraged by the instinctual drive to protect her newly found charge, she devastated portions of the clan with her destructive rage. The leader of the Tribe, a gruff dragon known as Thunder, was charmed by her strength and agreed to hand the hatchling over to her. He then disbanded the tribe, following Rana and swearing his loyalty to her.

As she grew further, she began to change and became a mighty Matriarch of the Feral Clan.

During the first day of the Winter Solstice, many months after her well-established clan settled within the lands of the Carrion Canyon, a clanmate returned from her Gathering, wild-eyed as she presented an odd-gift given to her by a passing Nocturne. The mystic scroll that could change a dragon's very being was clutched carefully in her claws as she offered the magic to her Matriarch. Unsure of whether to make the change at first, the overwhelming encouragement has brought her to become the dragon she is today.
