Biography
" Everything is dangerous, my dear fellow. If it wasn't so, life wouldn't be worth living."
An Encounter
Alicia's claws rhythmically tapped the dirt, the thick loam muffling most of the sound. With some effort she stilled them, focusing on her surroundings. Really, she was lousy at this, a scout who couldn't keep quiet. But her new clan was small and every able fighter and hunter mattered. She could make a difference here, rise up and be as fierce as her father if she put her mind to it.
Today, she fought for survival. She hadn't been heard by the herd ahead, thankfully. She set aside her apprehension and focused on the feral burning in her chest, bringing her hunting instincts into a sharper focus. Hyper-alert, she heard it, not the deer ahead, but the soft noise to her left, a scrape of talons on branches.
Alicia whirled to meet the attack, images of Talonok flashing through her head as she bared her teeth in a silent snarl. All awkwardness left behind, she was zoned in now, black fluid grace and lean muscles earned by hard years in the Viridian Labyrinth. She pulled the attack short upon seeing the startled face of her new Clan-mate. Oops. Her claws tapped out of control against the branch under her paws, head turned to the side exposing her neck in apology. All was forgiven. A face smooshed against her in a rough nuzzle and she relaxed.
Together they turned back to the herd, and she expected it to be gone. The deer grazed on, woefully oblivious to the two dragons' silent near-violence. Well, they would teach the animals to be more alert in the future. She grinned, the feral excitement showing on her face, the hunting thrill bubbling in her chest.
The two dragons crouched, then rushed the herd as one.
