Her very first memory was the darkness and gently glowing fungi of the Tangled Wood. No memory of what came before, where she was born, who her parents were, if she even had any. She didn't think to question it, however, instead obeying some ancient, primal will beckoning her forward through the depths of the wood. Antares traversed through the Foxfire Bramble, carving out intricate pathways through the thick thorn-bushes, ignoring the cuts and nicks to her hide along the way.

Within days she finished, having carved out a deep pit beneath the brambles. She claimed this land as her charge, and there she stayed. Soon she was joined by a charming fae, plagued with the same awakenings, who claimed he'd received visions that they were meant to be together. The rest, as they say, is history.

From the cuts she received digging out the beginnings of Clan Umbra's lair, a curse sprouted and bloomed. She noticed the cuts from the thorns had not healed, but foliage grew and flourished in their place. A hide resembling fossilized, opalescent bark began to spread across her body, slowly hindering her movements over the years.
