Cordelia

In the early hours of dawn, Cordelia found herself alone. She sat and watched the blue lights as the deep purples around her twisted and guided the little wisps along.

A blue wisp floated in front of her, and with a little giggle she leaned in, letting her nose touch the wisp.

The young pearlcatcher stood tall, his mane gleaming golden against the darkness. "I am Glimmer the Mighty!" he shouted at the fearsome Emperor in front of him, his voice squeaky like a small hatchling's. "And I'm not scared of you!"

The pearlcatcher slew the dread beast, and all those around him cheered and begged to be his friend and play with him–

Cordelia felt a tapping on her forehead and backed out of the dream to see one of her fireflies, her constant companions here in this dream world.

"Oh hello little one. Is it time for me to wake up?" she asked.

The firefly bobbed in the air and took off ahead as the other fireflies lit the world in a soft pink glow. Cordelia flew after them, twirling and gliding through the air as she followed the complicated path back to a precious pink wisp, her way home.

She turned back to the dream world for a moment, watching the blue wisps wink out as the dragons of Sornieth awoke to greet the new day. Slowly at first, and then in a great rush, the field of dreams emptied, until only a handful of dreaming dragons were left.

Cordelia smiled, feeling a deep sense of peace, and made her way into waking world.
