Biography

Strangling Vine Sandía
the
Spanish for watermelon; the name of a mountain range in New Mexico whose rocks are reddish at sunset with a "rind" of conifers; a rare type of hairstreak butterfly found in that area
Unstable Serthis Concoction
-participant in the Laurel Games
-scattersights: 2 (to get color desired, first got rare)
-on the larger side for nocturnes
Sandía's early childhood was a pell-mell of different faces and rules. She hatched from an abandoned egg and was tossed around between some nomadic groups that didn't have the proper resources to raise a hatchling- none of them really wanted the responsibility but didn't want to just abandon her, either. The hatchling got used to an endless stream of change; reveled in it, even. The situation was solved when she got passed onto a small caravan from the Grotto, and she spent the next few months as the mutual apprentice to various crafsdragons.
When that particular caravan returned to the Grotto she was made to stay for a proper education, but at that point in her life it was pointless to try and make pick one trade. Her early life had been so pell-mell that she wasn't used to settling on one idea for long, and ended up following half a dozen dragons around as surrogate parents.

Sandía is community-driven, as one might expect of a nocturne, and tends to help other dragons regardless of what she thinks of them as long as she considers them part of her 'group'. She is a quick learner and known to spit out random information from to time, even if she didn't seem to be paying attention when it was taught to her. She also loves climbing and exploring tight spaces, except for when said space is enclosed, and tends to use her wings like a second set of front limbs. The nocturne feels most at home in the thick jungles of her element, but disinclined to linger in one area for long and thus quite happy to travel wherever her clanmates take her.

Magic: Sandía element caused a change in her development while still in the egg, growing a set of fangs much like a spitting cobra's. The venom itself is physical and uneffected by magical barriers, but it can be amplified by her magical talents.

No familiar as of yet

Location of clan crest: Copper cuffs designed by Kyanite. The tops are embossed in a swirling pattern of butterflies, serpents, and flowering vines, with the crooked feather discreetly trailing along one side. They are raised up a bit from the gloves and make a convenient storage space for small seeds and leaves.

Notes from the Laurel Games: (no longer fully cannon, but something similar may have happened to her to make use of a dragon I hatched that's similiar to how I pictured Alden)
