Bio in progress, from roleplays:
Personality:
"A fae, small as he was, had to be careful in order to survive in the Wastlelands. Not to mention skilled. And lucky. It was not a lifestyle that garnered much trust, and it was his belief that the less his companions understood about him, the better. He’d much rather keep them guessing." (Quoted from his first roleplay)
Nikodeme hatched alone in the Scarred Wasteland, forcing him to grow up in one of the harshest landscapes Sornieth has to offer. A series of competitors and betrayals left him closed off and frightful of other dragons. But most of all they left him driven. He sought to be iron-cold, in firm control of his body and mind so that no one would know what he was feeling. Underneath his shell, however, he's still vulnerable and easily startled. He's sentimental, quick to grow attached even if he won't trust, and when woken his thirst for knowledge is as strong as any arcane-born fae (one of his dreams in life is to learn how to read). His anger is equally powerful when awakened, being closely tied in with his magic, and he can get close to feral if he gives into it. Thankfully nothing short of trying to kill him will make him that angry, as he tries so hard to stay in control of his emotions.
*also note that as fae, his social skills are impaired by difficulty understanding other breed's body language, which may contribute to his distrust.
Abilities: Nikodeme can drain energy from living things- usually on a small scale like wilting saplings or fungus to keep up his strength in times of hunger. When he's angry enough, however, he can exhale a red gas that's irritating to bare skin or eyes. Any creature fool enough to inhale it is at his mercy, whereupon he'll tear them apart from the inside and drain energy from both breath and body, resulting in death if he keeps the attack going long enough. This is less effective on larger creatures, as the damage is proportionally much less, but nevertheless painful.
Can, however, does not mean he often does. This sort of attack is a great strain on him if the energy is not returned by draining it from an opponent, and has numerous side effects. He feels all-powerful at the time from the sheer intake of energy, but it comes with a strained, sickening feeling, and he's beset by dreadful nightmares. Whether or not some of the effects are part of the magic or his personal discomfort with its nature is uncertain.
He can also manage a number of minor spells, most notably making little phantom candles from wads of wax. Their light makes him feel safer.
