Stygian's form is unstable; he looks like a dragon, except out of the corner of your eye, or when stressed or in danger, he reverts back to his original form: a mass of writhing black shadows.
His eyes glow slightly in the dark. Sometimes, they're the only way you're able to tell he's there. Stygian doesn't make noise like dragons do. He's not much for talking, either, and when he is, he usually whispers.
Stygian is frightening to many, especially hatchlings, but he means no harm. He is just shy.
His markings seem to glow or reflect light. It's hard to tell which, but he's able to dim them at will. Sometimes they dim on their own when he's upset or embarrassed.
