dfmGwuo.png Personality:
Deimos lives for the thrill of battle, and the payment is just a bonus. He's a volatile brute who enjoys showing off his abilities/strength and could find humor in any serious situation. Since the death of his mother and the falling out between him and his brother, Deimos has promised never to allow himself close to another again, this especially includes finding his charge. However, despite this promise, Deimos missed his brother's company and even though he finds War'uul's desires to fight and survive as a clan borderline disturbing(given the last one they were in) he accepted Valishtu's rules for joining the Holt.
Following and giving orders are fairly difficult for him and Deimos would rather stick to himself thus the council granted him the duty of a Huntsmen(when not out on a contract) so that he could be of use to the clan's needs while still being able to do things on his own. He is however good at training others and never turns down the chance to give a sparing demonstration against the matriarch(which often needs to be broken up by War'uul). Deimos is a master at picking locks and was once the clan locksmith until the council grew tired of complaints about his bad mouth and cruel humor from those who requested his help.
Likes:
Weapons, armor, battle trophies.
Favorite Activities:
Training/Exercising, hunting, fighting and killing beastclan members.
Dislikes:
Cute, babies, fish, being told what to do.
Unfavorable Activities:
He shares a dislike with his twin for awkward emotional moments and having to discuss plans of action with Valishtu.
Life before Reivers' Holt:
Deimos's mother, Cerdwin, was hunting near the border to the Tangled Wood within the Leviathan Trench when she felt the gentle touch of a small shadowy tendril followed by deep stabbing pains. Abandoning the food she had scavenged, Cerdwin made it back to her lair barely in time to lay a single, somewhat strange looking water egg. It would be she, and her mate Conn's first child and the excitement had grown overwhelming for the couple as the days carried on guarding their new precious asset.
Nearly a week later, Deimos clawed free from the large egg's shell first, strong and healthy while his brother, War'uul, required some assistance in his weakened and malnourished state. Word spread quickly around the lair and many clan-mates came to witness the rarity; rumors both dark and ominous beginning to bubble up. Rumors that nearly exploded into full panic upon seeing Deimos's dark purple, shadowy eyes as apposed to the deep, blue of the depths akin to all of the Tidelord's followers. While Conn spent most of the first few days pleading with the elders not to send them all away, Cerdwin kept busy ignoring all the stares and comments. An easy feat with her mind constantly in turmoil over what was presumed to be War'uul's last few days and for the safety of her now somewhat mobile, mischievous shadow son. The attention was harder for him to ignore, even at only a few days old, and twice as hard for him to understand. The most memorable whispers were that his brother's certain death was his fault, and that their egg should have been cast into the darkest depths.
A few days later, War'uul surprised them all when he finally opened his eyes revealing dark blue orbs, then clumsily crawled out of the nest and sat next to his brother for his first solid meal. As weeks passed Deimos watched as his brother grew as strong and large as he and even went out to practice hunting with their father. As months passed, the two brothers ventured out on their own to gather food while their mother and father began to tend a new nest which would yield their new baby sister, Dalia. After one such hunting occasion the two returned to find the decimated remains of their clan's territory; both parents and sister's egg missing.
While War'uul grieved the loss of their kin, Deimos had remembered every negative comment, evil eye, hiss or vicious kick made in his direction from another clanmate of any age. The only one he thought any kindness of in that moment was his mother. Something snapped inside him and he laughed, then calling his brother a fool for thinking any of them actually wanted them around he goaded him into scavenging any remaining food or valuables before leaving their home behind.
Over the years the twins had traveled all over much of Sornieth, picking up odd jobs like returning stolen property and sharpening their skills as swords for hire. As their reputation grew so did the plight for their help. Deimos wanted to stick to less then savory contracts involving assassinations and skirmishes while his brother had been uncomfortable with taking lives so easily and after much discussion that turned to argument, the brothers had gone their separate ways.
Nearly two years later, after accumulating more wealth then necessary to purchase what he needed and growing bored of wasting it on things he didn't, Deimos sought out his twin. It was surprisingly easy, given how well known the Reivers' Holt mercenaries had become as of late, the only hard part was dealing with his brother's mate, Valishtu.
The five years as an initiate were far too mundane for his liking and if it weren't for his stubbornness to fulfill a contract for the sake of his reputation, he'd have quit many times over. Val on the other hand enjoyed both watching him struggle with his boredom and rubbing the title "initiate" in his face. Despite the rocky start, and even though they would never admit it to the other, they do respect one another, though it's hard to tell with the constant nit-picks at one another at any given chance.

Flight Alliance Within Reivers' Holt's:
Although Reivers' Holt resides in the Stormcatcher's domain, Valishtu and War'uul accept any dragon, of any flight alliance, so long as they complete their contract and do their part for the continued survival and progression of the lair and it's inhabitants. Most of the dragons associated with the Holt(Nuzlocke related) are either under mercenary contract or have become permanent residents via a crafting/medicinal trade, guards, etc. after completing their contract. However, there are some taken in temporarily as refugees or simple crafting contracts for various jobs needed around the lair and it's territory.
--- --- --- --- ---
Becoming a Reiver:
Welcome to the Holt:
The Holt gives a dry and ideal place to sleep, food, healing and the necessary tools for any number of professions or hobby in exchange for loyalty and aiding in the Holt's upkeep/survival for the ever growing needs of it's expanding population. They are tied to the Holt for five years and are not allowed to seek out a new home until they have completed this time, unless exiled by the matriarch/patriarch/council for crime related reasons. Such cases are extremely rare and other punishments are usually enforced first.
Who is accepted?:
Given the amount and quality of the benefits one receives when joining, a not so surprising amount of warriors tend to line up in hopes of receiving an initiate contract. Unfortunately many are turned down. Val and the council would rather recruit those in need of a home and basic essentials, increasing the likelihood that a dragon will want to progress rather then quit/break contract when things get too tough in their training.
Reiver Initiate Contract:
In exchange for above benefits each new comer must agree to a sign a contract pledging themselves to the success of the clan for five years in which time they are not allowed to leave unless with their trainers and with a councilman's consent. Initiates are expected to complete at least four hours of hard training exercises in endurance, fighting styles and with various weaponry for five days a week, every week, until their contracts are completed. On top of their daily training, initiates are also expected to spend another four hours a day on guard duty, hunting or scavenging for the clan's needs after their daily training. Once an initiate completes their contract they are given the choice to leave on their own journey as a new mercenary or they can stay and continue to contribute to the Holt be it in protection or trade.
Reiver Tradesmen:
Now that they have finished their initiation, these dragons can focus on honing their skills in trades like carpentry, armor/weapon crafting, scholarly, etc. Each profession has a rank/title of its own.
Reiver Militia:
Instead of staying to be a craftsmen or trader of wares, these Reivers have chosen to stay and protect their home and clansmen alike. There are two kinds of dragons that fall under this catagory: Guards and Soldiers.
Guards:
These dragons are stationed at the lair and are not permitted to leave while on duty(They may however request time off/vacation to do so but may not take jobs under the affiliation of a Reiver). Guards do not take contracts and dedicate themselves to the protection of the clan inhabitants and uphold its laws.
Soldiers:
Soldiers are a hybrid between guards and mercs and occasionally are sent out with mercenaries when larger numbers are requested as part of a contract. Soldiers work as guards twice a week to fill in for those off duty/on leave and they are tasked with training initiates, but are not scavenging/gathering food like a merc.
Reiver Mercenaries:
Or mercs for short, these dragons bring in a good source of income and/or supplies. When awaiting a contract, mercs typically scavenge, hunt or group up with initiates who are interested in a future as a mercenary or soldier.
