dfmGwuo.png Personality:
Silly, curious, gentle are a few words to describe her. After initiation, as per the rules to join the Holt regardless of who you are related to, Dalia was given a rare opportunity to do something asides from a job that requires combat experience. Due to the adoration of all her clan mates and her ability to be quiet mature in serious situations despite her quirkiness, Dalia was placed as lead caretaker for the Holt's hatchlings while their parents are away. It is an occupation she quickly grew to love after discovering how well she gets along with them. Make no mistake, although she possesses a kind demeanor, Dalia excelled at her training and is more then capable of protecting her charges should the need ever arise.
After spending most of her days playing and tending to hatchlings of all ages(while her mate is out patrolling their territory as per his appointed job), Dalia and Howl decided not to have offspring of their own. Dalia gets a long well with everyone in her clan, even her brother Deimos who tends to dislike everyone, and has rarely been seen in a poor mood. She often is teased good naturedly about how she and Howl can be a pair when he always seems so brooding in comparison.
Likes:
Jokes, hatchlings, puzzles, art.
Favored Activities:
Playing hide-n'-seek, exploring, teasing Howl.
Dislikes:
Boredom, senseless confrontation, bullies
Unfavorable Activities:
Taking contracts, venturing far from the clan territory, temper-tantrums.

Life before Reivers' Holt:
Dalia was the only surviving egg from her clutch after her clan had been ambushed and destroyed by centaur who wandered from the neighboring shadow lands of The Tangled Wood. When fighting to keep them away from their nest didn't work, they pick up the last egg and bullied their way through their opponents. Cerdwin suffered a broken wing on their way out and could not fly, making it impossible to take to the air in an attempt to flee. Refusing to leave her behind he begged her to take Dalia and escape while he took a stand and buy them time.
A few minutes later, Cerdwin's injuries began to take their toll and she could no longer find the strength to stay a head of their pursuers. Stumbling across an alcove, she made the heart wrenching decision to hide her egg and try to draw them away. As she was tenderly concealing it with some nearby foliage, she discovered a crack in the shell and a tiny, deep blue eye peering up at her. Unfortunately she had finally hatched in time to see her mother's joy turn quickly to fear when there came the sound of shouts and crashing through the nearby brush growing closer.
Nuzzling her child goodbye, Cerdwin was gone, leaving Dalia confused and curious. Poking her head out to look for her, she was instead surprised to see a large net thrown on top of her and was soon taken forcefully back to the raider's camp. A short time later, Dalia and everything else stolen from her clan, had found themselves in a neutral trading post where she was to be sold to the highest bidder.
After two failed attempts to leave and biting a handler trying to stop her, she was bound to her post to await her fate. A few hours past and she was soon joined by a fairly disgruntled, pale nocturne hatchling named, Howl. Despite his disposition, Howl soon warmed up to her and they began to devise a plan of escape. During the darkest hours of the night, they helped one another to break their bindings and steal some spell scrolls to change their appearances and left the grounds as quickly as they could.
Although her friend had no idea of his own origins, Dalia could still hear her family's voices speaking to her as an egg and convinced Howl to come with her find to out what had happened to her brothers. After numerous months of searching from one zone to the next, Howl and Dalia had heard rumors of a mercenary clan within the Shifting Expanse, lead by a guardian that had hailed from the same area of Tsunami Flats where she had lost her family.

Flight Alliance Within Reivers' Holt's:
Although Reivers' Holt resides in the Stormcatcher's domain, Valishtu and War'uul accept any dragon, of any flight alliance, so long as they complete their contract and do their part for the continued survival and progression of the lair and it's inhabitants. Most of the dragons associated with the Holt(Nuzlocke related) are either under mercenary contract or have become permanent residents via a crafting/medicinal trade, guards, etc. after completing their contract. However, there are some taken in temporarily as refugees or simple crafting contracts for various jobs needed around the lair and it's territory.
--- --- --- --- ---
Becoming a Reiver:
Welcome to the Holt:
The Holt gives a dry and ideal place to sleep, food, healing and the necessary tools for any number of professions or hobby in exchange for loyalty and aiding in the Holt's upkeep/survival for the ever growing needs of it's expanding population. They are tied to the Holt for five years and are not allowed to seek out a new home until they have completed this time, unless exiled by the matriarch/patriarch/council for crime related reasons. Such cases are extremely rare and other punishments are usually enforced first.
Who is accepted?:
Given the amount and quality of the benefits one receives when joining, a not so surprising amount of warriors tend to line up in hopes of receiving an initiate contract. Unfortunately many are turned down. Val and the council would rather recruit those in need of a home and basic essentials, increasing the likelihood that a dragon will want to progress rather then quit/break contract when things get too tough in their training.
Reiver Initiate Contract:
In exchange for above benefits each new comer must agree to a sign a contract pledging themselves to the success of the clan for five years in which time they are not allowed to leave unless with their trainers and with a councilman's consent. Initiates are expected to complete at least four hours of hard training exercises in endurance, fighting styles and with various weaponry for five days a week, every week, until their contracts are completed. On top of their daily training, initiates are also expected to spend another four hours a day on guard duty, hunting or scavenging for the clan's needs after their daily training. Once an initiate completes their contract they are given the choice to leave on their own journey as a new mercenary or they can stay and continue to contribute to the Holt be it in protection or trade.
Reiver Tradesmen:
Now that they have finished their initiation, these dragons can focus on honing their skills in trades like carpentry, armor/weapon crafting, scholarly, etc. Each profession has a rank/title of its own.
Reiver Militia:
Instead of staying to be a craftsmen or trader of wares, these Reivers have chosen to stay and protect their home and clansmen alike. There are two kinds of dragons that fall under this catagory: Guards and Soldiers.
Guards:
These dragons are stationed at the lair and are not permitted to leave while on duty(They may however request time off/vacation to do so but may not take jobs under the affiliation of a Reiver). Guards do not take contracts and dedicate themselves to the protection of the clan inhabitants and uphold its laws.
Soldiers:
Soldiers are a hybrid between guards and mercs and occasionally are sent out with mercenaries when larger numbers are requested as part of a contract. Soldiers work as guards twice a week to fill in for those off duty/on leave and they are tasked with training initiates, but are not scavenging/gathering food like a merc.
Reiver Mercenaries:
Or mercs for short, these dragons bring in a good source of income and/or supplies. When awaiting a contract, mercs typically scavenge, hunt or group up with initiates who are interested in a future as a mercenary or soldier.
