Tishalulle

Tishalullé, the goddess of water, was pretty much water incarnate. She frequently took a nebulous dragon-shaped form, as if water was suspended in a dragon-shaped vase, but could change her shape at will. Like the element itself, she was fluid and could conform herself to any shape she chose.

As a goddess, she was a law unto herself. Depending on her mood, Tish could be gentle and help smooth the waves for easy swimming, sailing, or flying the vents above the surface, or she could be merciless and make the waves grow larger and larger, devouring themselves as well as anyone else who happened to be sailing the seas in those tempestuous times.

There was one event though, one ship, that changed her life forever. She was in a foul mood that morning and was finishing sinking a ship. The force of the waves broke the thinnest point of wood and the mast collapsed, cutting the ship in two. The crew had no choice but to jump or be crushed in the process. Tish laughed, and the sound was like the crash of waves upon the rocks.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a dashing young Nocturne rose up from the sea and started darting about. She watched him spoil her fun as one, sometimes two at a time, he grabbed a drowning dragon and pulled them to the nearest shore. Tish couldn't help but be impressed by his mastery of the water, his speed and seemingly effortless movements.

She tried to send the waves to beat against him, but he withstood them and continued to plow through. He even looked like water as well, his dazzling blue coloring making him blend in with the waves. After she realized he wouldn't stop on his rescue mission, she simply watched him. Tish currently was in a shapeless form but as he took the last victim to safety, she took on a Nocturne shape like him.

Tish asked him who he was and why he was interfering and he, who had no idea who she was, told her to mind her own business. She introduced herself and showed off some of her power, and he seemed less impressed than she had expected. In fact, he seemed upset. She had no idea why but she wasn't done interrogating him and so she followed him back to his clan.

He didn't introduce her to anyone, and they all looked at her puzzled as she followed him, even when she tried to educate them. Some of the others were very friendly, and tried to make her feel at home. The Nocturne she'd been following eventually told her off, but was chided himself by some of the friendly ones for being a grouch. They told her that most of his anger was probably directed at himself for he'd put himself under a lot of pressure and was a generally unhappy dragon. Tish vowed to try and figure out what was up with him.

Over the next year, a year with calmer seas than had been on record, Tish stayed with the Clan of the Shifting Tides and slowly grew to be on friendly terms with the taciturn Nocturne. They became really close and went on adventures together. She decided to stay with him and they realized they complimented each other quite well and were happier than they'd been before.
