Imith
“Go Away. Now.”
Fierce/Stubborn
(Capricorn) A
Clan Role(s): General
Mate: Darrin
Parents: None/Too Old

Name meaning: Night monster/Storm goddess
Adopted kids: Prison

Imith has a fiery personality and is always snappy and ready for a fight. She has an arsenal of good comebacks and getting on her bad side is not a good idea. Imith does not give up her trust very well and you are lucky if she gives you an honest answer. She hates stupid questions and they get her into an even worse mood than the one she always seems to be in. There is only one who can match Imith's snappy comebacks and fortunately they get along surprisingly well. If you ever need a lawyer, Imith is the one to go to. That is, of course, if she doesn't glare you to death because you woke her up from her billionth nap of the day. Imith is the fifth of the 6 elders in the clan.
It was a day just like any other when a young coatl arrived at the clan. His name was Darrin, and Imith could tell by the look on his face, he did not want to be babied. With a grunt, she turned around and went back to sleep. Unfortunately, every little sound seemed to keep Imith awake. Annoyed, she took off into the early morning sky and wheeled towards a cliff in the distance. Dreaming about the peaceful silence of the cave at the bottom of the canyon, Imith didn't notice how empty the beast clan camps were. When she reached the edge of the cliff however, Imith observed an unusually large pile of rocks resting on the bottom of the canyon. With a frown Imith flicked her tail, and dove down into the canyon, hugging one wall. Suddenly, Imith's wings faltered. Her head whipped around as she searched for the roar she could have sworn she heard. Giving up, Imith swooped towards the cave, and watched a black blur fall right in front of her. Startled, Imith closed her wings and went into a kill spiral, aiming for the air right below the blur. In an instant, too fast for most dragons to react to, Imith was below the shape. Flinging her wings open, she braced for impact.
The hit was hard, but lighter than she had expected. Imith limped towards the cave only a few steps away when she felt the walls shake. Without looking back, Imith took off into a bumpy run and slid into the cave, panting as she whipped her head around. Blinking slowly, Imith shifted the weight on her back until it rolled off and onto her bed. Curious, Imith blew fire into the torches on the walls and peered down at the blob. It was a dragon. Gasping and scowling at the same time, Imith noticed the unfamiliar smell of the dragon and rolled him over, preparing to slap him. The only thing that stopped her was the blood now pooling on the cave floor. Eyes widening in horror, Imith took in the tight bindings on the wings, the legs and the snout, and then the long gash, bleeding freely along the dragon's belly. Imith felt her heartbeat fast, something she had not experienced in a long time, and she raced into the back of the cave, searching for bandages. If she did not seal that wound fast, the young dragon would die.
Two weeks later, Imith returned from her first trip to the clan in order to keep suspicions at bay and gather medicine for the still unconscious dragon. Heaving a deep breath, Imith dropped her supplies onto the cave floor and poked her golden head out of the cave to peer at the sun. Narrowing her eyes, Imith scanned the canyon then slunk her head back inside and began a fire.
Humming to herself, Imith stoked the fire, pausing every once and a while to listen to Darrin's quickening breathing. She could tell that he would wake up soon, unfortunately it would correlate with her...meeting. When Darrin did wake up, Imith heard him retch up the medicine and she almost laughed. "Well I suppose the maggots deserve that." She drawled, noting Darrin's reaction. He was slower than he should be, but he was still healing, so Imith shrugged it off. "It's about time you got that out of your system. If you hadn't I'd have proclaimed you dead." She snorted, her heart fluttering. Before she could say anything else however, Imith felt the floor shake beneath her. Immediately, she stomped out the fire and quietly walked to the mouth of the cave. Without looking at Darrin she said "Don't move, don't talk, and most importantly, do not let it smell your blood." Then, before Darrin could ask a question, Imith swept out of the cave to meet her opponent.
Imith sighed as she trudged back into the cave. Ever since the beast clans had dumped that monster into the canyon, she had been forced to fight it every day at noon. The fight only lasted an hour before the rock monster became a pile of boulders again, but that one hour was long and tiring. Imith couldn't leave the canyon because the monster would smell Darrin's blood and eat him, and the little dragon had grown so much that lifting him was impossible. With her mind blank and her head spinning from the usage of magic, Imith slumped into a heap next to Darrin and fell asleep.
That night, Imith dreamed that she had woken up and found Darrin dead besibe her with the rock monster sucking his blood. Imith shrieked herself awake, cold and sweating, and did not go to sleep for the rest of the night. "Would he wake up?" She asked herself as she paced the cave. "It has been two weeks and almost four days, and he has only woken up once. He did lose a lot of blood though." Imith fretted. Then she froze. "I have to kill the rock monster, once and for all." She thought ferociously and resumed her pacing, set on killing the beast. The next day at noon, Imith pried herself out of the cave, and presented herself to the rock monster. Glaring up at it, Imith snarled. In response, a rock came out of no where and almost smashed her head in. In an instant, Imith took to the sky and soared around the rock mound, beating her wings furiously, hoping to confuse him. For a while it worked, then the beast learned her tricks and Imith had to swoop under a volley of boulders meant to crush her. Imith had finally gathered enough strength to perform one piece of magic; hopefully enough to incinerate the rock monster, when she noticed a black gem shining on the ground. Imith's eyes widened and her wing beats faltered as she watched Darrin step fully into the sunlight. Caught in his burning gaze, Imith didn't see the boulder that sent her careening into the canyon wall. She felt bones snap at the impact and she clattered to the ground. Faintly, she thought she heard a roar that reeked of death, but she was in so much paralyzing pain, she could not focus.
Out of the blinding sun, Imith felt a shadow cover her, then roll her over. She managed to open her eyes to a slit, and her face dropped to match that of Darrin. A tingling feeling spread through her, and Imith felt her bones mend as a golden light encased Darrin. Suddenly, Imith understood. "You're my..." Imith began, watching a smile spread over Darrin's face.
"Mate." He finished, beaming. Imith found herself smiling back, wider and wider, until she thought she could go no more. She had not smiled like that since she was little.
Without faltering, without arguing, Darrin and Imith took off into the sky and torched all the beast clans on their way home. Imith glanced at Darrin once and wondered why she felt as if she were looking in a mirror. She knew those confident wing beats, those curled talons, those hell bent eyes that hid so much pain, so much sorrow, so much anger... Imith felt herself gape as she realized it. She was not alone. Fate had played out and it had led her to the one other dragon in the entire world that was just like her. The only one. Imith was not alone.
