The North Wind
Origins
Amusingly, Opalfeather was born in the Southern Icefield, but at a young age was flown to the Four Seasons Hatchery within the Viridian Labyrinth. The already well travelled hatchling was then carefully groomed into the Snowflake that she would someday be, before being picked up by a playful breeze and once again travelling South. She flew over the Tangled Wood, and then turned to rest in the Sunbeam ruins for fear of getting lost. There, she met Lona, biographer of the Cardinal Breeze Clan.
Lona had been visiting family when she spotted Opal being carried by the North Wind. After living with a Wind Clan for so long, she knew exactly what was happening, and spoke with the Snowflake. The Boreas, wind of travel and adventure, was calling her, and it was important to trust that it would take her where she would need to go. And so Opal waited, for the wind to pick her up again. She flew lazy circles waiting for a push from the Boreas, but never went anywhere.
Finally, it was time for Lona to return home. She met the dragoness outside and told her that perhaps the reason why the wind was not pulling or pushing her was because she was already where she was supposed to be. Lona opened her wings and pushed up into the sky. At that moment Opal felt the wind begin to pickup, and she launched into the air following the pearlcatcher. She quickly caught up, calling out that Lona was right, she had been where she needed to be, meeting Lona, but now she was being pulled to follow her. They wouldn't happen to have space for one more in their clan? And Lona smiled.
