Biography
I was once the shimmering golden pride of Clan Dragonblight. A gift of beauty and poise that they did not deserve.
I chose my mate with the hopes that my children would be even half the glory I beheld.
Two daughters. One, a striking contrast of dark and light, swiftly chosen to live within the lands of the holy Lightweaver. My blood may be Arcane and my flesh will be offered to the Icewarden one day, but my soul shall always belong to Light.
The other. A wretched little creature.
It was not worthy of being my legacy. Such a thing could never be wanted by the Lightweaver.
The others could not see that. I tried to make them see sense, to drive the foul spawn from the clan, to replace it with truly beautiful children, but it was I who was driven away instead.
They tore and bit and scarred my scales as they chased, so that all would recognize me and refuse me shelter. They destroyed my golden gleam, my beauty.
But they failed to destroy me
And only one has ever managed to find me. It had to have been her, of all dragons it could have been.
I always loved her face, sorrowful and sweet even as her claws raked through my scales. Her voice, none of the harshness of the Plague tongue, flowing like a soothing balm and washing away strife. I miss her voice the most.
Though some come close to matching her brilliance, no other dragon could ever surpass her.
I will hear her voice once more, soon. I will hear it as we sing together the song of war against the Dragonblight, as the beautiful monster our kind is destined to become. Was designed to become, for the Lightweaver does not make mistakes.
Flashdance, you have died in the name of vengeance and bloodshed. Your body shall join with mine when the time comes for me to leave the floes and your claws will be at my call.
One day, I will allow you to speak, and you will forgive me.
A long time ago, she was the Arcane flight representative, held in high esteem by pretty much everyone. Now, she's just the disgraced exile. Thought dead by some, alive and wretched by others, either way she needs to be found. Nobody knew that Emperors existed outside of the most frightening of legends at the time of her exile.
She has hideouts all over the Icefield, but her main lair is out on the coast, as far away from the Icewarden as possible. She could escape to other lands, if she didn't have to carry and preserve her precious cargo. Yselle tricked and murdered the beloved dragon Flashdance, who is so far the only dragon from clan Dragonblight that's managed to find her. She had hoped that their bond would help Yselle see sense and attempt to atone for her misdeeds towards her child, but had gone alone thinking nobody else would want to help her.
Yselle intends on using her remains to create an Emperor out of some twisted notion of revenge, while still cherishing every moment she had with Flashdance. She keeps her, along with all the imperials she's captured or killed, in a hidden cave deep below ground. In an impulsive fit of rage, she even stole a young dragon who had the gall to resemble her from his nest, though ultimately couldn't go through with killing him. Clafoutis' miraculous escape caught the clan's eye, his resemblance to Flashdance fiercely stoking the flames of suspicion from those who knew either her or Yselle.
Recently, her smaller hideouts have been taken over by other dragons. Not wanting to draw too much attention to herself now she's actively being hunted down, she rarely contests it. Some of them are useful for information, others for carefully censored company. A few might even be worthy enough to join her and Flashdance as an Emperor. She's almost a matriarch in her own right.
Some of them have no idea what she's planning. Some do, and for either personal gain or some higher purpose, they don't see fit to intervene.
The only dragon she's considered a mate since Flashdance is of the former category, as far as she knows. She doesn't know how wrong she is.
