Biography
Nebula chose her adult name at the same time as she begged her clan to send her to the Observatory. Since she was so busy staring up at the sky all night, she frequently dozed off while waiting for prey during the day. Thus deciding that it was only a matter of time before she was discovered and gutted in her sleep by a sprangyroo, the clan were happy to oblige.
The night sky is her first and only love - though she nests every time her season is upon her, she always chooses a mate who will take over nest guard duties, in order to flee back to her remote little fledgling observatory high above the Scar. She has never asked after her nestlings - once the eggs are laid her interest in them is nil. They are not heavenly phenomena, therefore they do not exist for her.
At the top of the ridge she will camp for days while the skies are clear, obsessively taking notes and charting star maps. She has heard about a new wonder created by Light - a chemical soaked parchment that will magically record an image - and has taken to quizzing every Light flight dragon passing through the Scar guest lair about this marvel.
She was sent to Attermire because the skies there are exceptionally clear and the Lair is Northerly enough to regularly see the Aurora, a mystical phenomenon that the scholars of the Observatory are keen to gather more information on. Her secondary role is Meteorologist to the clan. The weather in the mountains can change with little warning. However, due to her extreme isolation from the lair itself Attermire has learned that the only reliable way to get the weather report is to have a rota of young dragons accompany her and "change the guard" twice a day. After a hairy night time raid by a pair of harpies, this became a guard in truth and is led by Freya Arcansdottir, one of the younger children of the clan leaders.
