In nippongo, her surname ( 月石 [Gesseki]) means "Moonstone", while her name ( 彖玖 [Tankyū]) means "the Black Gem of the Divination". When you turn to her she prefers to be called "Gecchōseki-sama". Tankyū, daughter of one of the best future tellers of the Tangled Wood, is a unusual Pearlcatcher. While her race is very well know for their love or in gossiping, instead she's very silent and introvert. No one knows the reason of this shyness of hers, only with Arcana does she chat lively and, rarelly, she discusses with Annabelle. She and Annabelle don't like each other very much, regrettably. Annabelle envies her for being the Arcana's favourite, and Perlarie envies Annabelle for being her Queen's daughter. Her story results opaque. Many say that the Shadiwmelt clan gave Perlarie as a gift to the other clan as a sign of deep friendship, but the truth is that, as hatchling, Tankyū's powers were too unmanageable for the clan to use them to their advantage, so her mother decided that Arcana to be her teacher for some years. When she was ready to come home, she asked to stay near Queen Arcana as her Strategist and Dame of Court. She's an excellent psychic, and her powers are, in some ways, even more powerful than Arcana's. The latter actually does seek help from her when the Future is involved, since her pearl, extremly large due to her anxious nature, can give to her a more sharp vision of the future. Arcana taught her the magic through self-control and discipline. Until the day she let her show him the Arcanist. After that heavenly vision she became more and more committed to studying so that one day she could return to the Supreme. Every day she meditates in her rooms so as not to lose clarity in clairvoyance. Her clairvoyance, known beyond the realm, procures wealthy visitors who formulate any question concerning their future; most of them don't get an answer because she refuses to give it. She does not like her powers to be exploited for the avarice of others. She had as son Catchro, who is the result of a failed tentative to blend in dragon society by mating; that someone is Glynn "the Red Fae". They reluctantly accepted their nest because of their lack of "excellent" genes, at the point to secretly send all their offspring to other clans. All but Catchro. She refuses to think that he's her son, but secretly loves him like a mother does.
