Biography

Knight-Paladin of the Chapel of Light
"May you prove your worth in the wars to come."
Val-ar-Aion calls itself a place of peace, but there are many still living who would scoff at that notion. Val-ar-Aion is not at peace, they would say- it is merely slumbering, and it will stir again to brand the words glory and ruin on the world once more. For the oldest denizens of that country, there is always another war- it is not a question of "if", but "when". Three centuries have passed since the last great conflict, and the generations that have known only peace grow restless. These are the children raised on stories of the Brighthammer's crusades, of banners blowing in the red wind of those ancient battlefields. They are impatient for their taste of glory.
For Gwynthrain, the next war can't come soon enough. Despite his humble origins as a ward of the Chapel, he is as ambitious as they come, and fiercely devoted to the Light. He is not blind, yet he hides his sight in imitation of the sun-gazing priests of old. When he came of age, he shed his orphan name, Half-Light, and chose a new one in the hopes that it would bring him honor. Zealotry, incompatible with truth as it is, is not common within the Sunbeam Ruins, yet this fact has somehow escaped the young Imperial. Not one to spurn loyalty, Queen Noc has only enabled his notions of valor, appointing him to the Clansguard and naming him Blade of the Church for his ardor. The knight-paladin's hulking shadow can often be found haunting the nave, daring any evil-doers to step foot into this sacred space on pain of oblivion.
Perhaps one so eager for crusade would be better suited to the ranks of the Shadeslayers.
"Can you hear the clarions calling?"
