The daughter of Varania, Naida, had been separated from her mother for months as she traveled out to serve the Gladekeeper, but found trouble along the way; despite years of training in combat, an aerial ambush took her down, breaking her wings and rendering her helpless against attacks. Weak, ill, and broken, she struggled her way back home, only to find her mother no longer lived in the current clan and had moved on to brighter lands. She sought out to find her again once she healed, wings permanently ruined.

Through different stops at various clans, wrong turns, and a few battles, the pair finally reunited. Her mother was relieved to see her back home in her arms, promising to never part again.

Naida is usually found curled in the gardens, making sure her mother is in earshot and in range if something goes wrong. Scars litter her hide and her broken wings have been fastened with prosthetic enhancements that allow her to glide; Joane and her worked with each other so they were sure nothing pinched or ached, making sure she still had the chance to stay in the air somehow if she wanted. Even though she considers herself retired, she's willing to defend the clan if needed, though she doesn't interact with many within the clan in the first place.

She naps for long periods of time, sometimes hours and sometimes days, but whenever she dozes moths gather to coat her scales.
