Biography

Flambebe subspecies

There were a lot of sightings of a tundra wearing a white wolf pelt running with a pack of wolves at night all over the southern ice fields but little to no evidence was left behind other than it’s giant prints.

Uri was a wolf, or at least that’s how he was raised to be. He wasn’t sure if his wolf brethren’s killed and ate his parents or some sort of accident left him abandoned; all that he cared about was watching out for his family. He learnt wolf at a younger age and spoke regularly with his pack, fitting in well and socialising. His claw and teeth made him become one of their apex hunters. He would kill anything to feed and protect his family. But, while Uri was living his life happily, others were going weary to him and his pack; they wanted him gone. Some of the residents would lay traps scented in blood to lure them in but Uri’s nose would always tell them it was a trap and make the pack turn away from it. It was turning into a cat and mouse game each night all over the ice fields. If they were spotted in the snowquall tundra hunters and residents would lay traps and force them to move and the cycle would continue. It wasn’t until his pack hunted down one of their poachers and ate him that they decided to call in a man expert.

They called for a beasthunter with the sign all “casket” and her hydra familiar to come help out for a large sum of cash. They hunters got permission by their guild leader to fly (and slither/swim) out to the fields to the full analysis. When they arrived in the town to meet more than a hundred residents from all across the ice fields gathered and spoke about the beasts. “They ruined my vegetable guardian!” “That tundra killed all my dappled cluckers!” “They kill my brother!” “They’ve ruined all my fences!” That was enough for casket as she made a loud hiss and signed where it was now. One of the people in the crowd walked up and gave her a map with an x on it. Casket tilted her head and the pair set off to their destination.

It was about a 5 hour flight (or slither) to their destination before they set up camp. They were told repeatedly that the pack was most active at night so the hunt was would continue then. So they waited and by nightfall they both heard the howls of their prey. They went in slowly towards the howls and saw them nipping and playing with each other in an opening behind the trees. Unknown to casket, Uri had picked up their scent and secretly told everyone that they were being watch. Uri slowly but non suspiciously moved closer to the unwanted scent and when he thought he was close enough he lunged; but nothing was there! He landed back on all fours but there was a trap set up and as he tried to run at the smell again he was flung high into the sky, dangling in despair. He cried in shock, alerting the rest of the pack as they ran towards him. They tried biting down the tree and trying to grab hold of anything to create weight but Uri was too high up. They circled him and waited until the some trees parted and casket was seen. The wolves snarled and barked at the enemy but did not attack. Casket walked Castillo past the wolfs and stood underneath Uri. Casket started to his at him, asking if he knew any dragon but Uri continued to growl. Casket hissed for her hydra friend to come through as well, making all the wolves back up and get even more defensive. The hydra head with the three eyes gazed at Uri and spoke perfectly “you only speak wolf dragon. You may speak to her through me.” Uri was surprised but played along saying “I’ve only lived with the family. Other that look like me drove me away.” “Could it be due to you killing and pillaging.” “We need to to survive beast. You should know that.” “Yes but you’re a very wanted group and that’s only making it worse.” “It won’t matter soon anyway your here to kill me. It’s stained on your flesh.” The hydra head lowered toward the coatl and hissed at her. They exchanged hissed and spoke once more saying “we can take you away from here tundra; somewhere where you can be safe.” “At what cost and what about my family?” “No cost.
We can vouch for you at your new location, casket can get her reward for ‘killing your pack’ and you may live safely.” “It sounds too good to be true.” “Do you want to die or live.” There was a pause. “Live.” The hydra lifted above to where the trap had him caught and gently broke the trap. Uri dropped back to the ground and the wolves ran up to him, some licking him while others continued snarling. Uri let out a large howl to get his families attention and explained the deal that they had in place. The wolves all stood by with their brother and allowed themselves to follow the hunters.

As soon as casket got her reward for ‘removing’ them, the wolves and Uri jumped on the hydras back as they had to swim across to the firey home. Once they reached dry land casket lead the way back to their clan and was immediately greeted by Granith. Casket hissed a bit and Granith simply laughed and pointed. Casket lead them to one of the furthest out dems on the eastern side of the creator. She showed them the inside and allowed them settle in to their new home. The next day she came back with an enchanted white bird skull necklace to put around all of them so that the heat would stop bothering them as much. They were greatful and accepted the gift. By the third day, they all got up early and sat outside to watch the sun rise. They all howled at the sun chanting “we are home. No longer lost.” Perhaps they would be accepted here.

Later on one of the mages would help Uri to learn common tongue which was handy to help espresso concerns that could be seen only to his sniffer. The mages also discovered he was a flambebe, further questioning just how he ended up in the ice fields all alone. Now Uri and family have created a traditions every morning to wake up early to howl their thanks to the raising sun for giving them a second chance.
