BIOGRAPHY
A robotic construct created by the Glitch as their first act after the Directive's founding. The Glitch's right hand, bouncer of their secret lab, and the closest thing they have to a best friend. Some argue that your best friend can't be something you built, but the Glitch themself is a golem as well- so perhaps Chrome is better classified as a child? A massive, cold-hearted, murderous child? Their voice is strange, booming, distorted, but they rarely bother speaking. They just stand, and stare, and leak disgusting red-tinged oil everywhere. They're a formidable warrior on the battlefield, needing no weapon but their own metallic claws, and they're capable of wiping out small clans completely stone-faced, the Glitch perched wordlessly on one antler.
Though they're of passable intelligence, many question Chrome's capacity for free will. Their steadfast devotion to the Glitch seems genuine, however, and they do have scraps of personality. Most of it is leftover from their childhood: they were born a flesh-and-blood Mirror. The elder golem stumbled upon them dying in the desert, and used them as fodder for their first grand experiment by stuffing them into a massive metallic shell. An x-ray would reveal the half-rotted carcass tucked away within their ribcage. None other than Riftwalker and Glitch are actually aware of this, including Chrome themself: as far as the clan is concerned, they're nothing more than a slightly simple AI. Who often reeks of death and decay, but, well, they're a warrior. These things happen. |
