Isabeau

Isabeau is deaf.

Not in the standard 'have no ears but can see air vibrations' way that all coatls are. She is truly and completely deaf to the world, unable to even speak her own breed's language. Despite this, Isa gets along just fine. Her parents are patient and loving, and that fae, Alkaid, brings books on paw language to help teach them. It's a funny thing to do, stomping and scratching with her claws, but it lets her speak. And she has a lot to say. "What's this? What's that? Why does that thing have numbers on it?"

There's so much she wants to do! Not many dragons know paw language, admittedly, but Isa's not going to let her disability get in the way of things. Even when paw language fails, she carries a stack of parchment with her to write on, and for others to write on.

Still, she finds herself wondering now and again what it'd be like to hear, to see the ripples of air.

Whatever. Isa has enough to busy herself with, between her ongoing paw language lessons - there's always more to learn - and helping out the clan with odd chores. Between all of those, her schedule is full.
