Biography

The Ice Queen’s eyes shimmered like snow globes, but her scales of deep red begged to differ. She wasn’t really a Queen of Ice, or of anything; but that could be defined simply by how she acted at times: cold, distant, and regal. Not with him though. She was childish. With a squeal that sharply contrasted from the harsh seriousness of the immense factory, she dashed on ahead to stare at the machines. “Why’d you take me here anyways, Luna?” Echoed Path’s voice throughout the chamber. It was sweet and rang like a bell; the loveliest thing he had ever heard in his entire childhood. However, this pure voice had been getting on his nerves. He was going to solve that here and now.

The Imperial stepped closer, biting his lip as his eyes glazed over oddly. She laughed. “What are you doing?” A wide grin was spread across her face; even her eyes were smiling. It would be quick, then it would no longer bug him. Like a bandaid, the faster you tear it off, the less it hurts. He took one more step, and she stuck out her tongue. “Come on, tell me! You’re not planning to kiss me, are you?” She scrunched up her snout in mock disgust. “Ew, don’t do that!” His steely grip clamped onto her shoulders, and she began to wonder. Path laughed nervously. “H-Ha! W-What’s the joke, Luna?” The last syllable of her final word raised into a shriek as he threw her down a chute. He knew it to be full up to the neck with lava, and it wasn’t expected for anyone to last longer than a painful second in there. Slamming the grate back on top of it from where he had hidden it in preparation of this murder, he started to walk away.

When he raised his paws to his face, he could still smell that faint flowery scent that always hung in the air around her. He didn’t feel the urge to cry. Rather, he was disgusted by this. Beginning to rub his paws in the ash, he heard one of the machines kicking on. Bang, bang. What had started it up? Didn’t matter. He should really be getting home. Scriiiiitch. That didn’t sound like a proper mechanical function, but it still sounded metal. Maybe one of the machines had malfunctioned? Not interesting.

Another step and the noises changed. It was something alive, but almost dead. A dragon. These were the noises of one very close to death, but strong enough to ward off the urge to give up. A sense of terror grabbed him by the neck, and he whirled around, ready to fight. To his surprise, the grate on the chute was wrenched off. The metal bent, it landed in a far corner with a loud clang. Falling from the top of the chute onto the ground, what was once Pathogen looked up at him.

Hurt was present in her eyes, but more so, there was wild anger and hatred. Tears welled, and she raised her head. Her mouth opened. A gurgle, a croak, and a screech erupted from her throat; she crawled forwards, one paw after another, at a speed faster than would be thought possible for one that just escaped sure death. Lunging at him, she grabbed him by the wings and screamed into his face, seething. Her paws blistered and burned on his wings; Lunatic howled and threw her off of him.

She hit the floor at a painful angle and from the sounds she made it was likely she broke a few bones. He scrambled away from her, his wings still in searing pain and white tainting the edge of his vision. One lick of flame was enough to make him crash in fear.
