Biography
"Let them know I've learnt how to create and erase."

B I O G R A P H Y
"For as long as you continue to draw breath, you shall never control the power of the ocean. You will always be a FAILURE." The words still buzz in his brain like the stingers of a sea wasp. Gomphus, born of the Water Flight, didn't have a natural talent with water like his brethren. He could barely swim, hated being wet, and didn't like seafood. For his differences, he was shunned. The elders of his old clan thought him useless, a burden, and had him banished. In banishment, however, Gomphus learned his true calling. To survive, Gomphus took the waterskins of his tribe with him. Seeing himself unworthy of a drink, he used the water on nearby plants, seeing them as more deserving of life. To his surprise and shock, the plants reacted to this simple act; they burst to life in a dazzling display of green, flowering and fruiting immediately before his very eyes. He was taken aback; this was the first magic he had ever performed! Before long, the forest he wandered into was filled with life; his own Hanging Gardens. |
B I O G R A P H Y
Gomphus thought his power ended there, but through his Plague neighbors, he learned of his other talent; Fire and brimstone. He got along very well with his Plague neighbors; he helped them grow various fungi and herbs they needed, and they traded him various jewelry, powerful fetishes, and gave him the emotional support he always wanted. His neighbors loved him, and treated him as an equal. Before long, Gomphus's sad past was revealed to his friends, and the Plaguelings had a simple answer: Burn the past, and from the ashes, become something beautiful and new. They taught him spells not of creation, but of destruction. Conjuring gouts of flame came easy to him; it was as simple as a flick of a jeweled finger, or an invocation of the talismans he wore. Soon, his mind became consumed by a terrible, burning desire for vengeance. He would prove to his clan that he was worthy. He would prove that he was better then them all. No one knows where his old clan lies. All that appears near his old home is a luscious grove, filled with plump fruits and gorgeous flowers. |
