Biography
For better or worse, Alastor is seen as a rather gloomy presence around Nightmire. Everyone knows his job within town, but no dragon nor beast wants to discuss it much- who would? Because of this, a good few avoid the guardian's path almost treating him as if he was the reaper himself. Alastor doesn't let this treatment get to him, although one may mistake his staying to the graveyard and surrounding grounds for so many hours as purposeful seclusion, he's simply very devoted to his work in maintaining the grounds there. Strict procedures have to be followed taking care of graves- if not simply to follow tradition, for the sake of a town that hosts so many Imperial dragons. After all, he's seen the tragedy that can follow when a town has a careless gravedigger. The old grounds of Nightmire when it once had settled in the Lightweavers domain had been unknowingly built upon a site destined to produce an Emperor that would lay waste to a stretch of the territory there. Many residents of the old home came up missing and many more were injured. Some even succumbing to their injuries. Following that, the serious guardian doubled down, vowing that he would never let a tragedy like that happen again. Alastor carries on his work rather cheerfully all things considered. Believing that some spirits stick around the grounds, he makes sure every morning that his outfit is presentable and his makeup done despite the grime and dirt. He sings songs to nobody in particular never humming the same one too many times, and can be seen talking aimlessly to the headstones of even dragons he never knew as he cleans off moss and leaf litter- leaving wreaths or vases of flowers in his wake on important dates. Wherever he goes, his familiar a Graveyard Guardian trails behind, often assisting in digging new resting places, or removing large debris like fallen rocks or trees when needed. Despite the beast's intimidating appearance the great lumbering bear much like the dragon it follows is rather passive and friendly. space Fun Facts [>] He has a hopeless crush on Treasure the town's Cleric, but doesn't have the courage to approach her about it despite them working together fairly often [>] Alastor is particularly musical and has a pleasantly deep voice- he often jokes if people ever stopped dying he'd take up musical theater [>] He isn't particular to any faith himself, but takes the traditions of others very seriously and makes sure not to disrespect them |
