Hairtuft was an energetic bundle of joy as a hatchling, often chasing around her brothers and sisters, but it wasn't uncommon for her to also fall asleep mid-scuffle due to how much she moved around, even for a hatchling. It's no wonder how she got her name, too. Hairtuft would even tease older dragons knowing full well nothing would be done to her due to her status. She was the daughter of the clan's founders, after all - Moonstone and Saturn.

As fate would have it, however, her parents couldn't stay and continue providing her with good care, and so, she and her family got separated. Hairtuft was given over to the then very small Frost clan, which would eventually become the clan she continues to reside in now. Shakly and Strawberry, the founders of this clan never had children of their own, and were ecstatic to not only welcome Hairtuft into their clan, but their family. It seems, Hairtuft has retained her position of regal upbringing, but instead of dreaming of one day becoming a clan leader herself, prefers to help out Blu and other workers around their shops and duties.

Even so, Hairtuft often ponders over her life and how she got where she is now, but she's happy under Shakly's care. Haru sees Moonstone, her mother, in her, and Shakly sees Moonstone, her friend, in Haru. Shakly wouldn't hesitate for a second to put her life on the line for her adopted daughter.
