Biography
Ata
"A Dawnling's body is in constant flux due to straddling the line between physical and ethereal. They are just as much creatures made of pure, elemental Light as they are creatues made of bones, muscles and skin.".
Ata is an interesting dragon. From a young age, he exhibited characteristic behaviors for a Dawnling. His mother, luckily, recognized it early on and taught him how to survive. For the first few days of his life, he lived with his parents in comfort, until it was time to leave the clan for him. To make his own life. He went to the local healing center, for his constitution. He was bullied by the other imperials for his small size and the care he received from the otherwise passive and dull teachers. They thought he was special in some way, and they weren't. Ata endured this all quietly, fixing his bruises late at night with the healing he had learned. For weeks he went on like this. Until all the trainees from his entry time were given their final exam. The task was simple: find a very injured dragon, and nurse them back to health without any help. They were exempted from any and all classes, and spent their whole day hunting, gathering, or whatever they did.
Ata spent a long time like this. Until he found Micar. A guardian, nearly three times his size was in carrion canyon, starving, with scratches and bruises. He looked like he was teetering between life and death. Ata used his levitation magic to bring the guardian home to his healing room. It was a simple place, clean and white. Gold filigree decorated the ceiling, and there was nothing out of place. Ata laid the guardian on the cot and went to bed. The next morning he mixed his special healing brew and fed the guardian spoon by spoon. He smiled when the guardian had finished his food and got to work on the smallest cuts and bruises. The night before he had brought one of the Masters of Healing to look at the dragon to be sure he was ready for this final exam. Now Ata was determined to succeed, if not for his exam but for this green and platinum dragon who was now in his care. After healing all of the smaller hurts he went to nap. He had just done more healing in one sitting than he ever had.
When he woke up he decided to heal the three biggest cuts on his patient's body. He first fed him more of the soup then sat down and evaluated the situation. Four large cuts. One more than he thought. The worst on the shoulders. Another huge on on his right leg, the third on his tail, and the last almost ripping his left wing in half. Shoulder first, then wing, then leg, then tail, he decided. He put his hands on his guardian's shoulders and delved into the skin and bone to fix everything. When he was done it was dark and he was ravenous. Ata got some food and wolfed it down, then went back to sleep. When he woke again, hi patient was struggling faintly and moaning. He got up from his bed and made the soup, remembering to spell it for instant and dreamless sleep. He gave it to the guardian, and he quieted. For a few days Ata went on like this, working on wounds between meals and putting his patient to sleep.
Finally he sat down next to the unconscious form that he had devoted much of his energy to and waited for him to wake up. The guardian's beard looked very matted, and he knew they took excellent care of them, so he began to gently brush it out with his fingers. It was so soft, passing through his claws like smooth silk. The poor man, he thought. He's missed almost a week of his life! Ata smiled at his patient but then though, What will become of him once he's all better and ready to leave? What will I do? Will I stay here? His thoughts were interrupted by his patient's waking up. He lifted his head and his eyes traveled across the room, to stop when they rested on Ata. "What's your name, golden imperial who has been taking care of me?" The guardian asked, smiling.
