Opulent and effortlessly resplendent in both aspect and demeanour, Anthousai was the first dragon who did not worship the Plaguebringer to join the clan. A combination of pride and sloth made him ill-suited to life in the clan situated below the Tempest Spire into which he was born, though there are rumours that it was more the result of bloodshed than laziness that was the final straw of his banishment.

The Skydancer himself is unlikely to weigh in on the matter, ever looking outward as the public face of the small band of dragons whom he now finds himself grudgingly calling his kin. It is a visage of disarming charm for the ambassador of a clan that follows the expanding bow wave of the Wandering Contagion, one that is often underestimated as that of a pampered naïve brat utterly out of his depth. More fool them.

He can usually be found drawling sarcastic comments that were once the product of arrogance blunted with the genuine fondness of friendship to Hypatia and Lachesis and receiving the same in kind. (He is, to this day, the only one any dragon has heard Hypatia be less than abiding toward, though it is obviously in jest.) In an official capacity, he is a mediator of conflict both within the ranks and beyond, though one is more likely to be given the acerbic advice to kiss and make up instead of bothering him. Nonetheless, there has been no incident in which he has been convinced to act where his verdict has not been seen as fair.
