Soft-eyed and soft spoken, Hypatia's presence is as soothing as the healing art she practices. Indeed, some of her former patients joke that it was her contentious visitation alone that treated their maladies. The truth of the matter is that it is the work of the extensively researched and meticulously personalized treatment regimens that she creates following these visits, but she merely lets out a gentle laugh and a lightly admonishing shake of the head at the idea whenever those far-fetched tales are told.

The irony of a dragon whose traditional home would lie in the warm embrace of Emberglow Hearth being born in the tundras of the Icewarden often elicits the same reaction, with her own addition that she is healer-in-chief for a clan that traces its roots to the wastes of the Wandering Contagion, of all places. Even so, she speaks little of how it came to be - a fact that would arouse suspicion if not for her mate, Lachesis, who vouchsafes her arrival with the authority possessed of a founding member of the clan.

Although rarely shown, Hypatia is a skilled combatant, her knowledge of how to mitigate harm turned to deadly understanding of how to inflict it and carried out with the same effectiveness. While she has, with one exception, never been the initiator of a conflict, she has always been the one to finish it.
