Errant is a warrior through and through. Raised in a merchant clan, he was often caught sneaking out to watch the mercenaries training. As soon as he was old enough, he found fighters willing to teach him how to swing a sword and aim a bow. When he heard the call for squires in one of the Kingdoms of Light, the decision to leave was easy (though less so for his disappointed parents).

Strong and competent even then, Errant was apprenticed to the head of King Cassanova's guard, a tundra knight named Nettle. Errant was well on his way to knighthood himself when the kingdom's alliances fell apart, pitting brother against brother in needless war.

Nettle and Errant chose to desert and travelled far to the south, where they were able to put their skills to use serving the Winterguard. Although he an indisputably excellent fighter, Errant has gained a bit of a reputation for hot-headedness, and has been banned from several different Icefield drinking establishments.
