Starlet - n. a young actress with aspirations to become a star.

Uriel is an actress, famous in the Clan for her dramatic roleplays. She likes to say that her colors paint a picture of a night by an ocean lit by sea creatures with twinkling stars. The Empress is considering moving her down the ranks to a Journalist; Urina gets carried away sometimes and forgets her caretaking duties.

i am impatient sometimes
okay, all the time
i want to be doing everything all at once
my hands are like golden retrievers trying to
imitate swans
the grace and composure they wish to have is
immeasurable
yet they get too excited to follow

and off they are again
fidgeting with the milky fabric of my prom dress

doodling a girl's seagrass eyes and
halfway through
a clink
the pencil slipped out of them
and they are
flipping through dog-eared pages
flitting across a keyboard
fanning away a wayward gnat
look at them go
restless to accomplish something
so that all this time i spend in
my own head
is not wasted
