After quite a promising career in the Shifting Expanse, Transistor suffered severe burnout and began looking for a change. While it was difficult to leave his friends and office mates behind, he committed himself to leaving and finally settled on a maintenance job in the small, distant town of Shining Lake. Although he is overqualified for the position, the he has found himself far happier, especially now that he has more time to spend raising his son, Arcade. Transistor comes off very gruff, but he means well and loves to tell stories to the young ones of his time living in the big city. Often they come out unfiltered and occasionally results in minor complaints from parents listening to repeated versions.

He suspects something may be amiss in town, but to that end he simply does not care. It is truly impossible to find a place without problems, but anything the town has to offer can't possibly be worse than where he came from.
