Gerald

Gerald never liked the Scarred Wasteland very much. It smelled. Offspring of a Shadow and Ice dragon brought together under the putrid skies, he was unfortunately the runt of the litter. Perceived as dim, both in colour and intellect, Gerald was cast out as a hatchling, wandering for days, tired and alone, seeking refuge in the blue waters, hiding among the currents so that he would not be banished from another land.
While being a hatchling allowed him to learn the art of current-riding quickly for a dragon of Rot, he had to move quickly as the water turned grey and foul wherever he rested. Not understanding why, all he knew was that he must keep moving as far away from that foul mouth as he could.

Eventually, he happened upon a new clan in the Shifting Expanse, a pair of Guardians, who, true to their name, took the fearful hatchling under their wings. Gerald, desiring to be as noble, warm-hearted, and ambitious as this strange pair, who he came to know as Alfred and Yo-Yo, perched on a high rock. He reared his head and nearly could look straight across at them, rather than upwards.

As the clan grew, Alfoed and Joero needed to forage and perform other duties, so tasked Gerald with overseeing the clan activity from his rock. Now a fully grown Bogneak, Gerald only leaves this post to report any noteworthy occurrences, such as new births or disorder among the hatchlings, or to eat with the fraternity of other dragons hailing from the Wasteland.
