Suddenly aware she was no longer human, Hijiri Kamiya woke up from her shell reborn as a dragon within the Arcane flight. Her previous owner named her Petaldust and in her first few months of living as a dragon she mothered many hatchlings against her will with at least two separate fathers, and was sold in the Auction House at least two times.

It was during the first month that she started to lose her previous life's memories, eventually forgetting her previous life's name. She tried to communicate with her charges prior, but soon fell into despair due to the language barrier. She found a permanent home in Moonlit Hare, thinking that she can finally comfortably start her new isekai life here she gained herself a Sensei in the form of Byakuya (though more like a servant or a follower). She is weirded out (though not upset) that she is arranged to be a harem member of Tea. She doesn't really care for that kind of thing so long as she doesn't need to mate with any other dragon just to satisfy her charge's breeding pretty hatchlings schemes for profit.

Petaldust is deathly afraid of the possibility of being exalted, thinking that by uniting with one of the Dragon Gods equates to death. She is ****-shamed openly by other more conservative dragons like Akira, her Sensei's wife. She prides herself and talks back to these bullies that she's a "much more 'experienced' dragon than they'll ever be;" which further earns respect from Byakuya.

Matching AkiraByakuya's requirements of colour scheme to pair for her favoured dragon, Tea, she bought her for a cheap price from the Auction House. However, with fervent refusal from Petaldust, Petaldust refuses to mate with any more dragons and ardently imposed upon AkiraByakuya that she wants to live her (new) life the way she wants to, else she'll take her own life away. As such, their arrangements are that Petaldust is a part of Tea's harem of dragons imposed on him due to AkiraByakuya's failure to realize a homosexual Tea who still holds a torch for Bergamot. She is the first member of Tea's harem. She is very private about her life prior to Moonlit Hare, choosing not to open up about it, but has strived to try her best to live her life day by day letting go of both her past life's memories as a dragon and her original life (but some of her knowledge stays as a human).

Having met both Tea and Bergamot (with much effort) she has no romantic feelings for Tea but rather sees him as a troublesome, indecisive dragon that just needs a decisive push to steer him in the right direction. Whereas Bergamot as another troublesome, love forlorn dragon that just wants to be with Tea for the rest of his life. She fully supports their relationship and hopes they could be together once more (whereas AkiraByakuya doesn't).

Petaldust is best friends with Clove, happy to talk and spend time with her before she moves lairs and flight, they promise to write each other letters. As part of starting her life again, she strives to learn more about the world and to become a mage. She forces her way into Byakuya taking her in a his student (much to the jealousy and ire of his mate). She gets along rather well with her fellow consorts. Her impression of AkiraByakuya has changed for the worse due to her purchase of twin sister consorts for Tea. She doesn't get along with RoyalTea due to her bad attitude. Petaldust likes the viciousness of her familiar, Bow.
