|| BackgroundMomoka was hatched and raised in the massive Lightning clan Isoptera, with leaders who were feverishly devoted to the Stormcatcher. They exalted dozens of hatchlings every month, with every dragon expected to bear eggs for their god. When his nest was laid, the only thing that prevented Momoka from following his siblings to the exalting pillar was his mother, a skilled potionmaster, who claimed one of her eggs at random to be her apprentice to carry on her art. They were hatched in her laboratory, and raised amongst poisons.
It wasn't until the darker aspects of his mother's work came to light that Momoka began to feel uncomfortable around her. She increasingly began to introduce the use of dragon bodies in potions to her son, and eventually the day came where she tasked him to steal hatchlings, from wherever he could get them. Her final task for him, and the most gruesome. Momoka flew all the way to the Sunbeam Ruins, and there they found a group of three hatchlings: an Imperial, a Spiral and a Skydancer, all sleeping in a pile together. No one chased him when he ran.
Having fled with the hatchlings, Momoka almost immediately knew he could not bring them back to his mother. They named the three and set off across Sornieth, intending to get as far away from the Shifting Expanse as possible. He found his refuge in the newly-cleared Rara Avis, one of the first travellers to settle there. They raised their children in the crater, and set up their shop, The Bubbling Cauldron, hawking potions that would never use what their mother used.
|| CurrentNo one in Rara Avis is aware of Momoka's past, least of all his adoptive children, whom he adores. He raised them with the best of care and loves them dearly even now; they love him in turn. Whenever asked about his history, Momoka deftly avoids the question with a faint smirk and a twinkle in their eye. If anyone from his home clan is looking for him, they have never shown their face.
With his considerable skill, Momoka's potions are trustworthy, though many find their maker less so. He is tending to his shop most days, and his den is in the back, letting him care for it year-round. The only time they are not present is when they leave to gather supplies from the Scarred Wasteland, a journey that typically takes about two weeks. He always returns fresh-faced and ready for a new batch of potions, free of any draconic materials, of course.

|| Notes◈ As a firm believer in being self-sufficient, Momoka grows a great deal of his ingredients in his den. A significant amount of the space is taken up by his prestigious mushroom farm, and the conditions are welcoming to no dragon but him.
◈ The skira that Momoka tends to as his familiar was encountered not long after he adopted his children, on the run from his home clan. He found it similarly an abandoned infant, and his heart still giving took it with them. It frequently dines on Momoka's mushrooms, which sometime give it an unusual skin color on its bioluminescent parts.
◈ Momoka is not a talented flyer; their wings have been weak since hatching. He now uses them primarily as a place to hang glass bottles and jars full of whatever ingredients he's been using as of late.
◈ During their long journey to Rara Avis, Momoka became a somewhat-proficient storyteller, as he would tell them to his children before they went to bed. All three still harbor a nostalgic affection for his stories, though none will admit it openly.
◈ Momoka is in his late thirties.
◈ As they got older, Momoka's vision has started to fade somewhat. He thinks it's very likely he will be blind when he is elderly, but it's nowhere near that point yet.
