Biography

FALLEN ROWAN

.・.✧.・.

THIS IS A LAND OF CHAOS, OF CHANGE.

HERE THERE BE MONSTERS; HERE THERE BE SAINTS.

THERE ARE NO ABSOLUTES. THERE ARE NO CERTAINTIES.

HEREIN LIES THE RECORDS OF THE FALLEN ROWAN, FIRSTBORN OF THE MATRON OF DRAGONHOME.

.・.✧.・.

Ahem.

Who am I kidding? There's not a soul alive here to read what's written on these pages, let alone act on it.

Yet, perhaps...

No, no... I suppose that maybe, someday after my passing, someone might be able to use these writings as some form of... guideline? No, that's not right.

Something has been scribbled hastily here, then scratched out.

I am the Fallen Rowan. I am firstborn to Ameuri of the Order and her husband, Novisqui. I am the eldest of four remaining siblings; Quercus Viventem, Jaylyn Black, and Kingdom Come.

I have accompanied three Clanmothers through their journeys of leadership. First was mine own mother, the founding Clanmother Ameuri. The second was the Tyrant Seashore, and now I have come to rest beside our third Clanmother, Bloom. I have watched this empire rise, fall, devolve and grow. I have watched it split into sects and birth its own offshoots of new kingdoms prosperous and doomed alike.

Here I will attempt to enlighten you of my experiences, of my plight. Whomever may read the words written upon these yellowed pages will find themselves learned, better equipped to deal with the hardships of their own homes.

Let us begin, dear reader, and soon you too will know the depths of this society and its blessings... as well as its curse.

THE SECT OF ORDER

The Sect of Order was, and is, the beginning. I knew it by a different moniker, once; the Dragonhome Order. That name now holds many an ill thought for numerous dragons, and I advise you dare not say its name to any dragons you might meet.

This was the birthplace of our kingdom, you see. Despite the raw and unpleasant emotions the Citadel still harbors, there is no denying that it was the start of a new era, no matter how dangerous or perilous that era might be.

The dragons remaining here have turned the Citadel and its offshoots into something artistic, something inspirational. They take Order and shape it into acceptance and power. It is the heart of all the Sects, for better or for worse; each Sect is naught but a piece of Order, ferrying off into the unknown to build their own destinies.

Order is the beginning. Order is the end.

There have been many Clanmothers to reside atop the throne in the case of this Sect; first was Amerui, my own mother, and the founder of the entire nation. She, of course, went mad shortly after its founding, leaving the kingdom to her poorly-mannered protege, Seashore.

As you can guess, Seashore's leadership did not go over well. In fact, it might very well be the reason the Dragonhome Order collapsed in the first place. Upon the revolt of her council, her sister Bloom was called back to the nation, elected by the citizens after much turmoil and debate to fix the wrongdoings of Seashore and Ameuri alike.

By far has Bloom been a leader most prosperous; the Dragonhome Order became the Sect of Order, united with the other Sects it had birthed as a result of the late, corrupt Clanmothers. She continues to better the nation to this day, or so her current, happy citizens claim.

In my own opinion, Clanmother Bloom is a dragon with a good heart, but I am not sure she alone has what is needed to stop the so-called inevitable.

THE SECT OF LIFE

The Sect of Life is the Sect of Order's firstborn, birthed even before the Sects had become a prospect. Sanctuary, as it was called, was born of distrust and fear of the Dragonhome Order, seceding into the Viridian Labyrinth and onwards.

Here, dragons rely on their respect for life and one another to succeed; plants and animals work together with them to create a paradise, weaving greenery and bones and mists together to create wonders. That is not to say that the Sect of Life is without its perils; the forest does not always listen, and is subject to the corruption that plagues the land, as well.

Wolfsbane- arguably one of the most powerful Ancient dragons in the territory to date- chose the location for her sanctum of life, and removed a portion of land given to her within the Capital via warp magic to the desired spot. We have rebuilt said portion, per se- yet, it is still quite the feat she was able to pull it off, is it not?

She brought her visions to life, and prospered because of it.

As beautiful as nature can be, however, I do not know if it stands a chance alone to withstand the evil, beckoning talons the Wretch is extending to it.

THE SECT OF INNOVATION

X

.・.✧.・.

THE SECT OF UNITY

The Sect of Unity is, undoubtedly, the youngest of all the societies birthed of the Dragonhome Order; its Citadel, the In-Between, acts as a floating port of travel between all other nations. Unlike the other Citadels, the In-Between is constantly evolving; sometimes it shall make its home within the bounds of Order, other times Life, and others more in Innovation.

It was born of necessity rather thana divergence of morals or rebellion of units within other Sects; its birth came at a time of great hardship for all Citadels alike, and was born of the everlasting conflict that Godfrey, the Eternal Winter, curses our nation with. I suppose, after a while of bickering and fighting, dragons came to realize that they would get nowhere fighting amongst themselves.

As of the arrival of the Fohley Twins, Godfrey's magic became anchored in the heart of the Wretch of Wrath; this can be attributed to the Sister, Arwen Fohley, acting as a biological, volatile magical catalyst for the Eternal Winter's powers. Upon cooperation with the Sects of Life, Order, and Innovation, anchors were able to be put into place to pull Godfrey's influence from the Heart, at least temporarily.

The Brother, Arin Fohley, now watches over the integrity of these anchors via the collaborative efforts of the three previous Sects from the In-Between, while his sister resides to be safely supervised in the bounds of the Sect of Life's Ciudad Del Mar, under the care of London Bethany-Svetskia and Alexandra Bethany-Svetskia.

The monitoring of the Sister will, as hoped by the Sect Leaders, negate the deteriorating of the anchors placed by herself, London Bethany-Svetskia, and Sunday Morris. The Sister is still considered a citizen of Unity, though she declined the leadership position of the Sect of Unity that the Brother offered.

Arin Fohley works closely with the other Sects as the Citadel of Unity requires, aided in his new, unfamiliar position by a returning elder to the region, Care.

The dragons who make their home in the Sect of Unity are travelers and cooperative souls; a roving carnival has taken its residence here, hosting whimsical faires every other month from early summer to late fall. The city of Angel's Port also falls within the bounds of the Sect of Unity, connecting the Sects themselves to one another as well as the outside world.

I do wish I could say that Arwen Fohley's great power combined with that of her caretakers would be enough to keep the evils in this land at bay. I really do.

THE WRETCH OF WRATH

The Wretch of Wrath is a malicious, twin entity to the First Clanmother, Ameuri. Once given corporeal form, the Wretch's lust for power drew him to give up his body entirely, choosing to infest and take over the strange mana flow beneath the Dragonhome Order.

He now grows and feeds upon the arcana of strong magic-users, profiting off of the weak of mind and the lesser-trained of spellcasters. He has every intention of continuing to fester in the Underground, slowly spreading his reach throughout the tunnels and stones throughout...

Any attempt to make contact with the Wretch of Wrath since his dematerialization has been unsuccessful. Insofar, he seems unable to harness Ancient magic, and those not wielding magic are unaffected by his diseases.

Temporary inhabitants of the Underground have spoken of seeing figures racing by in the dark, a possible hint as to just how far the Wretch is extending his power.

.・.✧.・.

THE ANCHORS

The Anchors are a quartet of organic crystalline structures constructed via the effort and magic of London Bethany-Harris. Under hers and Arwen Fohley's care, these pillars radiate a portion of magic intended to distract and draw Godfrey, the Eternal Winter, away from the Heart located in the Underground of the Dragonhome Order.

.・.✧.・.

THE UNDERGROUND

The Underground is the name given to the network of caverns and ravines stemming from beneath the Capital, the birthplace of the Dragonhome Order.

Instead of rocks and minerals, the caverns themselves are made of magical, almost living materials; dragons spending time here find themselves driven mad (see such cases as Seung-Gil Lee, Citizen of Order). Here is where the Wretch of Wrath- a monstrous, mana-feeding entity- lives and breathes, sinking his shadowy tendrils of hate deep into the earth; at the center lies his ever-beating heart, massive and corrupting, untouchable by the magic and efforts of all Sects alike.

Tiberius, Keeper of Order, as well as the Gaolers Estrela do Autono Vermelho and Cassius are the only living beings to have seen the heart and survived. The late Dragonhome Order's Zenji Banba succumbed to the corruption of the heart, and Snow Lily remains under the effects of its curse in the care of the Sect of Order.
