Biography
From Demonreach.
Mate: Alkaid
Despite appearances to the contrary, this dragon has lost her pearl.
Old Life
The dragon who was once Kirea had had a wonderful life. She'd lived deep beneath the waves in the Spiral Keep, domain of Tidelord himself. Under the tutelage of her loving mother, she learned the ways of prophecy, from when she was a young hatchling.
Then came the day she and her parents went to land to gather materials for their rituals. A flock of beastclan harpies descended on them, and they made to retreat to the water. Her father's guardian bulk shielded her mostly. One harpy managed to attack her with her weapon.
The sword missed her flesh. Instead it struck her soul, and shattered her pearl into pieces. Then and there, Kirea died.
She - was she a she? It was hard to tell suddenly - was despondent. She did not wait to be cast out of her clan. After all, why would she be welcome there? She wasn't Kirea. She was just some nobody.
The nameless dragon spent weeks traveling around Sornieth. She tried to hunt for food, but the knowledge of how and the confidence in her abilities were broken. She begged dragons from all elements for food and water, for rest and shelter. Most pitied her - and she was pitiable, no? - and gave her sustenance. Those who did not... well, she could hardly blame them. She was nothing, less than the dirt on their paws.
One day, her wandering led her deep into the murky, eerie Tangled Wood. By sheer chance she happened on the dragons Eomer and Forestfalcon, out painting and carving. With her ribs showing through her scales she pleaded for food, and mercifully they rushed to her aid and brought her to the clan, where she gorged herself on the nightly feasts they have.
The nameless dragon has spent so long out there, hungry and tired and afraid. She just wants to stay...
Mighty Lair
She talked it over with the clan leader, a terrifying guardian more than thrice her size with claws rippling with shadow magic. As long as she pulls her weight, she's welcome to stay as long as she wants.
Her confidence in her hunting and fishing abilities are gone, and the clan places little stock in prophecies so even if she could, being an oracle is out. The nameless dragon instead takes on odd jobs, helping Carmeli with sweeping, or Lisse and Megeleus with cleaning up after the feasts. Sometimes she helps out the fae Alkaid with organizing the hoard and library. He's so kind to her, trying to convince her she has worth even without her pearl.
He could never understand. But gods help her, she still thinks she's falling for him.
