Biography
How Minghoa came to be is somewhat a myth in Hewn City. Many believe he is an oracle of sorts; supposing he is a phantom who, if captured, will bestow a prophecy upon his captor. His introverted nature has sparked many different conspiracies about him and his complicated past.
As a hatchling, Minghoa was full of life and spirit. His inquisitive nature lead to a fascination with history and the unknown. This demeanor was changed, however, when he fell into the Wyrmwound and faced death. His fragile life was threatened by an unknown illness and leached the hope out of his heart and the color from his scales. After weeks of pain and suffering, it seemed like there was nothing left for Minghoa- everyone assumed his hope had run out and his family in the Plague flight left him for dead..
After his scales were drained of life and days of misery and despair, Minghoa suddenly felt a surge of strength and pulled himself through a miraculous recovery; as if the Plaguebringer granted him a blessing. The reasons for his comeback are still unknown; and continue to be a topic of Hewn City’s discussions to this day. One thing remains undoubtable: Minghoa’s ailment must have granted him a miraculous immunity to any sickness imaginable.
With his newfound strength, Minghoa began his trek across the continent; searching for a clan to settle down with. He hoped for a family, but instead found a mage in the Cloudscape Crags. His surroundings usually made the passersby frostbitten and weak; but not Minghoa. The sage saw a power inside of him that he had never seen before; and he wanted it. The sage was poor, however. His desolate area let no wealth come to him, so he offered something treasure could not buy: wisdom. Minghoa agreed.
As soon as his talon reached out to shake the sage’s hand, he felt his head fill with prophecies and everything suddenly became crystal clear. Though his mind had it all, his body lagged behind. A surge of weakness, similar to his surge of strength as a hatchling, came before him and the world seemed colder. Minghoa felt his head hit the freezing stone and his shivers were louder than his thoughts.
The sage rushed over and slid a steel band off his own arm. He said he did not need it anymore and slowly snapped it onto Minghoa’s limp wrist. The bracelet’s design was intricate and dazzling as it emitted a soft glow. The light brought a burst of energy to Minghoa’s muscles and felt the toxins in his body leave. He reached to take it off; but the sage stopped him, because without it, Minghoa would surrender to the elements in days.
With his newfound wisdom, Minghoa stayed in the Ice region. He found Hewn City and set up a study, filled with books about the mysteries of his area. He has stayed there ever since, protected by his clouddancer, using his prophetic abilities to uncover the mysterious past of Hewn City.
