사랑했던 연인을 잊지 못해 미련이 남아 눈을 감지 못한 채, 그는 죽지 못하는 몸으로 이승을 떠돌고 있다

가면 돌아올 확률이 0퍼센트에 가깝다는 전쟁에 강제로 끌려가 시도 때도 없이 몰려오는 죽음의 공포 속에서
사랑하는 연인만을 생각하며 의지하던 사내는, 믿었던 동료의 배신으로 인해 적국에 포로로 잡히게 되고
그곳에서 끔찍한 인체실험을 당하게 된다.
매일매일이 지옥 같은 나날로 죽고 싶다는 생각만 하루에 수천수만 번, 고통 속에 몸부림치던 그는
서서히 숨을 거둬가는 와중에도 사랑스러운 연인만을 생각했다.
드디어 죽어 안식이 찾아왔다고 생각한 순간,
그의 몸 안에서는 그동안 투여받은 온갖 약물로 인해 세포에 변이가 일어났고 그로 인해 죽지 못하는 존재가 되어
다시 눈을 뜨게 된다.
이른바 좀비[언데드] 라고 하는 존재가 된 그는
자신에게서 평화로운 안식을 빼앗아간 사람들을 저주하며 갈가리 찢어 죽인 후 슬퍼했고,
그와 동시에 제 연인을 다시 한 번 더 볼 수 있다는 사실에 기쁨을 느꼈다.

"레이체, 조금만 기다려줘. 곧 너에게 돌아갈게."
