B I O G R A P H Y

Zika raised his head to the putrid air, looking above the boils and cyst like bubbles that pimpled up from between the tendrils of growth. The fetid wind swept humid and hot from the distance, where seemingly spikes abscesses grew up towards the sky like fungi. Zika coughed through his mask. The wild, clean air of the Labyrinth had left his lungs weak to the disease that choked the land's "fresh" air. Clearing away the mucus that clogged his throat, Zika continued his march towards the pustule lake of The Wyrmwound. There, he would find his contacts; fellow representatives from other clans looking to ally with the natives of the wasteland that willfully called the place home.
This was the land Zika was hatched in, and despite the nausea that clutched at him, Zika still felt unexpectedly drawn to the sickly soil that sunk under his footing. Sometimes, the idea that this discordant terrain was his birthplace felt right, as though he was betraying his first deity by leaving his place here. Even as he returned each time to the endearing vitality of his chosen home, he noticed the lingering pull of the Plague. His crimson eyes gained life from it’s severe magic, and his very skin took its color from the Plaguebringer herself. Still, he couldn’t call this place home. Never without the dragoness that made the lush land of the Gladekeeper unbearable to leave, Adeola.
Adeola. He truly loved her, and even now he couldn't stop the feelings that threatened his rationality each time he laid eyes on her. She had been the reason he had left his place in Plague, the reason he had found his place among the Uaithne clan. They had accepted him into their fold, no questions asked, when had followed Adeola home under her insistant charm. There, they had raised their first hatchings, Sorrell and Sanuye. They were the perfect family, for awhile. But too soon the two siblings were drawn to the never ending war, and left to serve another deity. With their absence, the spark between Zika and his beloved had rapidly dwindled down into nothing but ash. He could see the lack of happiness in her eyes when he was near her. The spark had died out. When she became unable to bear the pain of her children being so far away and she could take it no longer; she left him. He was only a reminder of their absence. He let her go without fuss, he loved her so dearly that all he could wish for was her own personal happiness.
Left without his family, Zika buried himself in his emerging career. Being raise in plague had given him knowledge and experience which he was now able to turn to the task of healing. He secluded himself away from the clan, stashing himself away inside a little hollow he filled with his precious tomes. He lined his shelves with soothing roots and remedies, and before long, he had amassed a wealth of medical knowledge from his many volumes. Eventually, the clan began taking notice of his skill, try as he might to avoid them. They began going to him when they fell ill or became injured. In the end, Zika's heart won out over his own pain, and he began the relentless task of healing those in need. Day in and day out, his focus stays only on that of his patients, and when time seems to move slower, and he becomes restless, he refuses himself thoughts of the past or anything but the present. Instead, he continues his neigh-addictive pursuit of losing himself amidst his library diversion.
