His memories and his Pearl, his very essence was lost forever or so said Frostwing.
But nothing of that mattered, he felt so good.
He was so much more. More than before? He couldn't tell. More than any other dragon? Yes. He didn't remember, but neither he cared, whoever he was before to choose such a lame name as Broken was pitiful to even think about.
He only kept his name the same because of her.
She said she was his mate and he was thrilled, a fine mate for someone as great as him, she was his no matter what, she was ḥ̴̗͉̱͉̇͒͝͝i̵̝̊̋͌s̷͎̥̀̃̂̚ and his alone.
The voices in his head whispered ways to keep her hidden from the world, it was so simple, but then she would look at him and smile and say how she loved the sky and the feeling of the snow in her paws. He hated all the things she loved for a flicker of a moment, but then there it was again, that smile and his heart would waver, the echo of something long forgotten and in an instant, he would concede, if her freedom could bring her to smile, so be it, even if the voices raged.
It was hard, but he was perfectly capable to control his desires, his whims, he was so much greater than any other dragon or living being.
He was whole.
He could feel it, he could sense it in his very core in the seams of darkness that stitched his soul.
He was perfection and he knew it.
