Zephyr was not raised by other dragons. Rather, he was an egg taken in by members of a Beastclan. When a group of dragons ambushed the BeastClan members who had originally stolen him from his birth clan, his egg was dropped and slid down a hillside. Eventually it was found by another group. These Beastclan people simply wished to survive, they had no desire to fight. Their clan was small but they wished no harm towards the egg. They did their best to help the egg, though they were hesitant to seek out its home clan in the fear that if they did so, the dragons who lived there would assume they stole it. Eventually, under their protection and careful watch, the egg hatched into a bright mirror child with vibrant green eyes as rich as any jungle. The members of the clan at first had no idea what to do, but they supposed there was no option but to continue caring for the baby dragon. They named the young male Zephyr, and grew to love him as if he was one of their own. They taught him how to avoid other clans who would wish him harm and how to hunt and fish for his own food. He played with the Beastclan children, never really minding if he was different from them or not. Unfortunately, things didn't stay happy and good for Zephyr and his clan. Another clan came upon his. Dragon haters. They wanted to take over the clan's home. Too powerful for the clan to fight back, the elders rushed to Zephyr and told him to run, slip out the back before they found him. The clan would be fine, they insisted, they could survive this but if this other group were to find him, they would not hesitate to kill him. Zephyr felt terrible having to leave home but his closest friends convinced him to run, one even traveling with him. Zephyr knew that most Beastclans he'd encounter now would not be friends to him. This meant finding a dragon clan, and convincing them that he not only meant no harm but that maybe there would be more clans that wouldn't want to fight. Zephyr wanted to devote his life to acting as a diplomat between the Beastclans and dragons. Zephyr is slow to speak, he is still getting used to the dragon tongue, but he knows the basics. He is very outgoing though, easily excitable and loves to play games. He is fiercely protective of his friend that came with him from the clan. |
