Eri likes bats and tinkering with odds and ends. He's got this fascination for creating mechanical bat wings for dragons who can't fly on their own power, and someday he'll get it down. Maybe.

"But, but Mom why do I have to take the puddle of goop?" Eros whined as Aphordite tried to put a pile of blue...something into her son's arms.
"Because Uncle Sandstorm's got an obsession and someone's got to care for the crud-munching piles of...well nevermind that just feed it every day until Sandstorm finds you a better familiar."
"You promise he'll get me something cool next time?"
"Yes, sure," Aphordite invented, not looking in Eros' eyes.
"Fine, then we're going for a walk." Eros looked at the creature with disgust. "Mom, why can't I have a bat like you?"

"Mother."
"Yes, dear?"
"I've been more than patient, yes?" Eros was pacing as he spoke.
"What are you getting at, dear?" Aphordite bounced little Sapphire in her arms, nuzzling her tiredly as she did.
"Dad and I had a discussion and he agrees with me."
"If this is about Obsidius I'm shutting this conversation down right now," Aphordite snapped.
"No, it's about Eventide!"
Aphordite set Sapphire down and gave her something to play with so she could give her son her full attention. "I'm sorry, something must be wrong with my ears. You did not just say you have a problem with a hatchling, did you?"
"He got a bat, Mom! Remember when I asked for a bat? Why didn't I get the bat!? That kid can't take care of something so special!" Eros exploded.
Aphordite took a moment to calm her voice before replying, suddenly wondering how Calla did it.
