Many would find it unusual that a coatl born in its native domain would choose to leave, but Amazon had a passion that could not be fulfilled in the polluted Ashfall Waste; she is an enthusiastic aquarist, and enjoys breeding and raising freshwater fish. Though many tend to think she raises them for food, the truth is that she merely enjoys watching them swim around. While living in the Viridian Labyrinth, she had claimed a small patch of a nearby river as her own, and raised her fish there. However, after the Gladekeeper exiled the clan due to Celia's monstrous machine, she was unable to continue keeping her fish in the rivers.
Though Amazon was initially angry with Celia for getting everyone exiled, Celia has constructed her a massive aquarium in which she can keep and watch her fish, and in which her Maren friends may live in safety. Amazon worries that the comparatively large Ridgeback population and their tendency to "borrow" things will pose more of a threat to her fish than the predators of the Labyrinth's waters, but only time will tell.
